A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this TV show.
Oprah's influence offers at least a nod toward personal responsibility and recovery, but much of the show involves watching Lindsay struggle to keep her life on track through addiction issues and living a public life.
Positive Role Models
Lohan is a regular in the gossip world -- mostly through getting attention for her negative behaviors -- but this show purports to document her recovery process. In the show, Lindsay sometimes appears to take responsibility for her actions, but at other times she blames her addiction or other people for her inability to handle day-to-day problems.
Violence & Scariness
Occasionally Lindsay argues with or yells at people when she doesn't like what's being said or done. Lohan's time in jail and the robbery of her home by a group of teenagers also is occasionally discussed.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Lindsay is a docuseries following the actress and frequent headline-grabber as she attempts to live a sober life and reconnect with her also-troubled parents. The influence of Oprah, a producer here, lends the show a hint of positivity and the sense that Lindsay might turn herself around. But most viewers will watch for the frequent arguments, emotional breakdowns, and confessionals that come along with some strong language, smoking, and a few sexualized images, such as pole dancing and skimpy clothing. Younger Lohan fans will be interested, but it's not really meant for them.
Is It Any Good?
Lindsay invites viewers to try to understand the many challenges the eponymous actress faces while attempting to overcome a well-publicized decade of personal and legal problems from her point of view. It also shows some of the unique challenges her public persona creates as she learns to live a sober life, including not being able to attend AA meetings due to aggressive paparazzi and trying to maintain a clear sense of who she is and what she needs to remain sober in an industry that celebrates illusion and excess.
The series paints a picture of a difficult journey, and there are moments when one can appreciate the struggle Lohan is going through. There also are many times when she comes across as difficult, irresponsible, and entitled, which lead to some teachable moments with Oprah, who clearly views the series as a chance to relaunch the former child actress' career. Family drama, especially surrounding her notorious stage mother Dina, also make viewers wonder about some of Lohan's choices. But regardless of whether you're a Lohan fan or not, her story certainly makes for some voyeuristically entertainment.
