Let's start off by saying Lost is one of THE best shows ever. I don't know why it says there is no good role models, because I think otherwise. Jack is a spinal surgeon who is devoted to making people feel their best and to prove his overprotective father that he can do good in the world. Kate is a strong female lead who will only do harm if she has to defend herself. Outside of the island, she cares for her friend's baby who decided to stay on the island, and wants to change her dreaded appearance of a fugitive on the run to a caring, kind person. Speaking of violence, characters are mugged, beaten, tortured, murdered, attacked, kidnapped, exploded, robbed, drowned, shot, drugged, burned, brainwashed, interrogated, choked, stabbed, and imprisoned. A girl gets shot in front of her kidnapper who had grown to love her. A girl is exposed to extreme magnetism, blown up, and crushed to death all at once. A man leaves his group to save his wife, and they drown and are helpless (their hands are shown drifting apart from each other after drowning with each other). Characters are often shown bloody/dead. When a character dies, it's a devastating scene to watch. Claire plants an ax right into her prisoner's stomach. Desmond is exposed to high electromagnetism and passes out. The previous test for the electromagnetism is shown, burned. Claire, after going insane from isolation, crafts a "baby" with knives, skulls, and other things sticking out of it. Her real baby is kidnapped several times by her best friend/boyfriend while he's on drugs. Lots of violence, up to the point where you have to close your eyes. Charlie battles a severe drug addiction inherited from his brother and decides to stop in the end, but settles a temporary bad image on Claire and her baby. Shannon asks Boone if he's high when he goofs off with Hurley and Charlie. Lots of friendship twist and turns, and many love triangles. There isn't anything shocking, but characters are constantly sleeping with each other, but it's not very explicit except for bare backs, legs, and shoulders. Shannon makes out and has sex with her stepbrother, Boone. Lots of kissing. Girls wear skimpy, racy clothes. Sawyer is the main offender for crude and sexual jokes. Sawyer and Kate are wrestling for a gun and when Kate lands on Sawyer, he makes a lewd comment. This happens on multiple occasions. He walks in on Kate wearing unusually exposing under clothes. He hints at having sex later, but he's just joking until Kate admits she wants to. Another part where Sawyer refuses to give Kate Shannon's inhalers unless she kisses him. When she tells him how uncomfortable she is with the situation, he says, "Hell, it's only base one. You're glad I'm not greedy." Two characters, while being watched on surveillance, have sex. Later on in the series Sawyer calls Kate a slut for sleeping with him so many times. He uses the word "screw" to substitute for "have sex." Some jokes (like that) could be taken offensively. Characters (looking right at you, Sawyer) often say "Son of a b*tch," "damn," "ass," "what the hell," "slut," and "crap." No terribly bad language. A lot of drinking, and some characters (Sawyer, Desmond, Charlie, Jack, and Juliet) get drunk. Sawyer smokes because "you have to do something to raise your social status here on this damn island." No product placement whatsoever, except for Dharma items. Overall, it's still one of the most amazing shows ever. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll blush. You'll pout. But most of all, you'll definitely get lost.
