Our 3 person family with a 10 year-old son has watched this series start to finish 2 times. It is not bad to watch an episode here and there, but there is a lot of character development (over 7+ years).
I know a lot of people like Roseanne, and I personally like MITM much better. This is not a pc cleaned up version of suburban life. The choices aren't always good ones, but in the end, the family members and friends support and stay true to one another. There are a lot of situations for discussion, and I definitely recommend watching as a family.
There is a little bit of language, some sexual situations, and violence, albeit mostly of the cartoon variety. Many serious issues are handled in a humorous way, including serious financial problems, pregnancy and childbirth, racism, disabilities, bullying, in-laws, workplace conflicts, career and life choices. This doesn't mean that at the end they are not handled in a way that drives a positive message home. At least for me. This show has it all, but may not BE for all.
