Funny!

There is only one use of strong language in the first series. There also moderate sex references like a child getting a erection from watching cartoon pornography and a man asking a teenage girl to have sex with him in his car, later on it turns out she's pregnant. The B-word is also used a lot. Probably about three times in every episode.

Uncomfortable Scenes

I really love watching the show however some certain episodes contain scenes of which I myself felt a little bit uncomfortable with. Other than that, a pretty harmless Irish comedy series.

Hilarity from another place in the world

Moone Boy is a TV series about a kid named Martin, who has a dysfunctional family and he has an imaginary friend named Sean Murphy . This show has some crude humor and innuendo and some infrequent strong language per season. It also has violence and bullying, which is mostly implied, but some on violence which is always comical. One episode contains a person misusing drugs. Overall, if this were a movie, it would of gotten a soft-medium PG-13 rating. My rating: PG-13 for crude humor, innuendo, language, comic violence, brief drug use, and some bullying.

Not for tweens!

I watched an episode of this to see if I thought it would be appropriate for my 12 y.o. I was disappointed. Too much swearing, too many sexual references, and lots of disrespect. Characters often told each other to "shut up", the word "b**ch" is used a lot. I have heard this show compared to The Wonder Years, but I don't think it even comes close.

Funny and imaginative

This show is absolutely hilarious and it's very life affirming as well. It's basically about a family in ireland and how they struggle with every day problems and how they overcome it as well. It's a sweet little show indeed. Although there is some mild strong language and sexual references but after that it's perfectly fine for your child.
