Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that OMG EMT! features mostly humorous reenactments of strange -- and sometimes bloody -- first responder calls. Expect some reenacted scenes of assaults or animal attacks with some visible wounds. There's some mild sexual content involving patients in skimpy clothing trying to woo EMTs and the like. Language is mostly bleeped with rude gestures blurred. Drunken behavior is sometimes shown, and occasionally creates a need for emergency care. The show is meant to be funny, but it does not ignore the dangerous situations people often find themselves in during an emergency.
Is It Any Good?
From helping a drunken patient who accidentally impaled his buttocks while sliding down a wooden banister, to having to treat a child in respiratory distress after sustaining a dog-inflicted groin injury, the emergency responders featured here look back at some of the weirdest moments in their careers. They also showcase some of the over-the-top personalities that exist among first responders, too.
The injuries are often serious, and there are a few mildly dangerous moments. But somehow they just make these strange situations even stranger. Meanwhile, some of the reenactments are just laugh-out-loud funny. Folks looking for some unexpected humor will definitely find it here.
