What's the Story?
TEASING MASTER TAKAGI-SAN is show about a middle school romance between Nishikata (voiced by Billy Kametz in the English dubbed version) and Takagi (voiced by Kayli Mills). Takagi has a crush on Nishikata and constantly teases him by pulling innocent pranks. Nishitaka however is oblivious to Takagi's true feelings and views her more as a rival of sorts. Nishikata's main goal is to be able to prank Takagi-san and get her back for all the times she has gotten him. However, it becomes clear that Nishikata is also developing some feelings for Takagi-san but doesn't yet know how to process them.
Is It Any Good?
Fans of romantic comedies and slice-of-life anime will enjoy this wholesome coming-of-age story. Teasing Master Takagi-san captures the best moments of the middle school experience: making good memories with friends. The main story focuses on the relationship between Nishikata and Takagi; their interactions organically capture the feeling of what it's like to have a first crush. The colorful art and solid animation are well done and add to the bubbly feeling of the anime. Character animations and expressions really sell what the characters are thinking and feeling. Overall, the anime is simple but a fun, enjoyable to watch.
