What's the Story?
THE ENCHANTED FOREST is a short documentary about the natural wonders of forestland. From watching different animals hunt and gather, to seeing how the trees, plants, and animals rely on each other in different microclimates, it shows the real magic that this ecosystem has to offer.
Is It Any Good?
This short documentary is a visually inviting series that showcases forests' fairy tale-esque beauty. It characterizes these densely tree-filled lands as magical places thanks to the way light and sound travels through them, and because of the wide-array of flora and fauna that call them home. Some of the microclimates that exist within forests, and the unique microcosms of life that emerge as a result, are also showcased. Most of this is done with the help of wildlife video compilations, and none of it is discussed in great detail. But the stunning scenes of lush greenery, cute animals, and misty hillsides make it easy to appreciate the charming sense of mysticism The Enchanted Forest is trying to create.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the contributions forests make to the environment. Why is it important to conserve them? What is the relationship between forestlands around the world and and things like climate change?
Films and TV shows often feature forests as mystical, magical places, or as places to escape to (or from). How is The Enchanted Forest using these characterizations to promote the value of these ecosystems?
