Lovable pig

Wibbly Pig is a timeless show that my grandson loves-and so do I. I like the pace and that fact that the backgrounds are not distracting and I also like the conflict-resolution and spirit of co-operation shown by the characters. The songs are just the kind of songs kids make up as they go along. It is not "urbanized" with a "street culture" feel, and flashy speed, as are so many of the kids shows lately. It is a joy to watch my grandson watch Wibbly, he is only 15 months old and seems very engaged with the show and laughs at the funny bits so I know it is relating to his reality.

Full of curiosity, fun, and imagination

I really appreciate this show. It's exactly the speed that a preschooler thinks. For example, there is a muddy puddle episode, and in it Wibbly puts his foot in the mud and hears a sound, "SQUELCH" so he does it again. Then he talks about it. Then he does it again. My son is fascinated and not overwhelmed like in many shows where everything moves at such a frantic pace. Wibbly Pig does things like teach the child to blow bubbles, make sandcastles, and pretend that a box is a racecar or train, and to try again when something doesn't work the first time.

Is It Any Good?

This cute little pig of board book fame makes for a delightful TV character, and his adventures reflect the simple nature of preschoolers' love of make-believe. Wibbly's dreams aren't the stuff of complicated storylines and intricate characters; they're inspired by what he knows of the world and what he imagines might be true. What does outer space look like? How high could I fly with balloons? What would it feel like to sit on the moon? Nothing is out of reach when Wibbly's imagination leads the way.

Wibbly Pig is a gentle, slow-paced series that caters to preschoolers' natural curiosity and sense of wonder, and it works in some quality messages about relating to others and being a good friend as well. Need another reason to like it? The animation style stays true to the books' illustrations, making it easy to transition from the TV format to some quality reading time with your little ones.
