What parents need to know
Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that ENGINEER GIRL is an excellent resource for girls who are interested in engineering. It encourages girls to pursue engineering careers and spotlights women engineers who are positive role models for girls.
What's it about?
A project of the National Academy of Engineering, Engineer Girl was designed to help girls learn about opportunities in engineering. It features profiles of women engineers, an \"Ask the Engineer\" Q&A section, a guide to different types of engineering, stories about exciting technological advances, and more. Girls can find information about scholarship opportunities, contests, clubs, and other ways to get involved in engineering.
Is it any good?
Engineer Girl provides a wealth of helpful information, including a well-curated collection of links to quizzes, scholarships, and other resources. The interviews with women engineers lend interesting insight into the profession, and the "Ask an Engineer" section is lively and encouraging. Adding a few more interactive elements could make Engineer Girl even more engaging.
