Is It Any Good?
HANUKAT gives kids a chance to learn about the Hanukkah and Passover holidays by reading stories and doing creative activities like making a menorah. The site's Hanukkah section is bigger than its Passover portion; however, both provide a decent overview of each holiday and include brief lesson plan suggestions for teachers.
The site's holiday-related educational info is great -- as is its overall message of affection and caring. However, the design could be more dynamic. The homepage e-card link and guestbook registration link didn't work during our visits; and some of the site graphics look almost like clip art. The Hanukkah story pages have the most detailed images and are most likely to capture kids' interest. However, there are only a few stories to read -- and because most of the site activities are .pdfs that need to be printed out, some users may not find many reasons to hang out on HanuKat for long.
