favorite animals they see on the site. What kinds of animals do you see in your neighborhood? How does our presence affect them?

LEARNING

Advertising, product, links and very little science

We have been gifts Nat'l Geographic Kids twice, and both times I wish I had the guts to ask the gifter not to bother. Advertisements are integrated into many pieces in the magazine, from the comic strip featuring Pepperidge Farms Goldfish to the quiz which includes questions about specific products and websites such as "Animal Jam." The features and information are more trivia- related than actually scientific. Science can be presented at a level appropriate for kids but without dumbing it down. For parents who limit screen time, literally every page of the magazine recommends going online to learn more.
