What’s the Story?

IT'S ALRIGHT, IT'S OK is the first single from the forthcoming album Guilty Pleasures by Ashley Tisdale -- a star of the wildly popular High School Musical movies. Rumor has it the song is a response to Tisdale's recent break-up with Jared Murillo of the boy-band V Factory, but her message about lost love will undoubtedly strike a chord with many of her young fans who've experienced their own heartaches. The uncomplicated lyrics give an honest yet clean account of getting over someone who's deceived you: "You played me, betrayed me / Your love was nothing but a game ... / I'm broken, but still I have to say / It's alright, it's OK / I'm so much better without you."

Is It Any Good?

Cookie-cutter is the term that comes to mind when listening to this track. Like so many other young female singers today, Tisdale's voice is passable if not exceptional, with a lilt that's reminiscent of Britney. The mildly catchy hooks sound a lot like those in Kelly Clarkson's new single "My Life Would Suck Without You," but because Tisdale's vocal chops are nowhere near as strong as Clarkson's, this single lacks overall oomfph.

    Sassy but cool. Great song!

  2. I rate this title on for age 8 and give it 3.0

    Plain, Fun, Fluff

Fun Fluff that some people may enjoy. No problems, but no meaning. It was just sorta plain, everything about it. Ugh... The interest category is very slim for this single. Just tweens and maybe some teens.

I rate this title on for age 10 and give it 2.0

This dumb song was just on "America's Got Talent" and I heard it for the first time. If you listen closely enough, the instrumental of "It's Alright" ripped of Pink's "So What". The song lyrics are also a rip-off of that song. Ashley Tisdale can't sing and only adds insult to injury. This is just a very generic and lame song and I can't see how people would like it.
