Parents need to know that on this CD, Jordan McCoy recounts the trials and tribulations of the typical tween. While her squeaky-clean descriptions lack adult language and sexual themes, they do include a strong independent streak ("I decide where I go, where I sleep, who I know / I'm the one who's running my life").

What’s the Story?
Move over, Miley: there's a new princess of bubblegum pop in town. Jordan McCoy, former star of American Idol spinoff American Juniors, is out to take the crown. Her six-song, self-titled, debut CD is being released by Bad Boy Records -- the label run by Diddy, who also tapped McCoy for membership in his revamped girl group, Dream.
Is It Any Good?
Jordan McCoy's songs follow the tried-and-true formula for tween music success: cute girl with solid voice sings catchy, synthesizer-infused tunes about boys and growing up. Like Miley Cyrus, she even throws in a remake of a hit by an 80s-music icon, which in McCoy's case is "I Get Weak" by Belinda Carlisle (originally of the Go-Gos). The formula will undoubtedly make her music a hit with tweens, though there's nothing particularly new or exciting about it.
