Bear About Town (by Stella Blackstone)

Bear and his neighbors spend their days in very familiar ways. They walk on two legs with their leashed dogs and baby strollers and enjoy lifting weights, watching movies, and digging in the sandbox. This clever story is told in rhyme and reinforces the names and sequence of the days of the week.

Endpapers feature patterned objects from the illustrations in neat rows. The final page presents a map of Bear's town that highlights the places he visits. Children can trace with a finger the path he takes each day. Striking illustrations combine watercolor, pen-and-ink, and crayon and are printed on a medium-weight paper.
