What's the story?

Reviewed by Amy Brotman

Felix is off again, this time carried aloft by helium balloons. He lands at a planetarium, where he is accidentally launched into space in a rocket. After landing on the moon (and sending back a photo of Earth from space), he returns, landing in the Arctic.

From there he hops a ship to the Caribbean, and visits the rain forest and Australia before finally making his way home again. Includes a fold-out map of Earth.

Is it any good?

Felix's previous world tours took him to famous cities and into different time periods. Now he travels to various environments. The result is less clear and focused. Children may not understand just what the moon, the rain forest, and Australia have in common.

The letters are as delightful as ever. In one, Felix encloses a sheet of semaphore signals, which kids can use to make secret-code messages. In this series entry, the family undertakes two projects based on Felix's journey: They make space costumes and build an igloo in the yard.
