What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about meeting new people. How do you greet someone new? How do you make new friends? Talk about how you got to know some of your best friends.
  • You also can talk about different kinds of greetings. What are some of the ways you say "hello"? And how do you answer?

What's the story?

What's the story?
Cat the Cat is out for a walk and greets her friends -- Mouse, Duck, and Fish -- each time answering the question, "Who is that?" Then she encounters a strange, four-armed creature. Who is it? "I have no idea," Cat the Cat says. Rather than shy away, she seizes the chance to make a new friend.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Cat the Cat skips, jumps, and pirouettes with delight in this simple but cute book. Kids will relate when she stops up short at the sight of a giant yellow-green, four-armed creature stacking blocks -- and giggle when she and the creature scatter the blocks in sheer joy. Simple words and repetition make this an especially fun and rewarding choice for beginning readers.

Simply drawn, brightly colored cartoons are as exuberant as Cat and her friends.

Wacky fun friendship book
This book is very silly but always makes my 2 year old laugh. Plus it's a nice message about making friends, and not judging at first sight.

Wonderful for All Ages!
This, a charming story of a cat and his wondrous adventures, is quite fitting for any child and should be cherished for the development of young children and toddlers. =]

Dazzling, or Frazzling?
Comments-really doesn't stand out from other picture books, but great friendship lessons. At least it teaches kids new things. My kids just (used to) love those illustrations. I mean, this book could tell the story just with the pictures. But this is a warm-feeling book-it makes you feel good.
