Ignatius B. Grumply needs to finish a novel that has taken him decades to complete. He used to be a successful author, but a hard-core case of writer's block is keeping him from finishing his last book. He decides to rent an old manor in hopes that the peace and quiet will do wonders for his work. Unfortunately for him, he inherits a kid named Seymour, a cat named Shadow, and a ghost named Olive with the rental. Everyone in the house wants him gone, but he's grumpy enough to stay. Who will win this test of wills?

Is it any good?

Funny and filled with clever illustrations, DYING TO MEET YOU is a heartwarming and hilarious story. Kids will get a kick out of reading about Ignatius B. Grumply, the realtor Anita Sale, Grumply's publisher Paige Turner, and all the other quirky happenings and people in Ghastly, Illinois.

Written through notes, newspaper issues, and official letters, the novel moves along at a quick pace sure to draw in the most reluctant readers. Kids will dig Seymour Hope and the ghost, Olive C. Spence, and even warm to Grumply, who may want to think about changing his name.
