I bought this book for my 4 year old daughter because I thought it would be cute. I read it before I read it to her to make sure that she would actually understand it. I'm 23 and it was a page turner for me. I couldn't stop reading it. My 4 year old AND 2 year old daughters love it. But I think I love that book more than them
Nancy learn lessons that my daughter can understand and appreciate.. I occasionally use Fancy Nancy as a role model - "Fancy Nancy wouldn't do that". It works; my daughter stops the unacceptable behavior every time.
The original and a new children's classic. Although Nancy is Fancy, she is no princess, but rather a creative, curious kid with the confidence to find her own style. The book introduces vocabulary words ("fancy ways of saying...") and generally presents fanciness as being a state of mind, rather than a set of stuff. This clever and resiliant heroine is a favorite at our house!
I bought this book for my daughter around her 2nd birthday. I wasn't totally sure she would sit thru a picture book yet, but she did. She absolutely loved it. At bed time it is one of her favorites to have us read. She will also "read" us the story at night.
My daughter is completly in love with these books, I reccommend every one!
Oh, wow! I started reading these to Jamie when she was three, and now she has memorized them! Now she wants to be just like fancy nancy! She even knows two french words from these books!
Oops! I trip. I slip. The Tray does a double flip!
I got this book for my daughter when she was 2 and she thought it was stupendous! (That's a fancy word for great!) She is now 4 and has every Fancy Nancy book there is! This book is the first in an absolutely wonderful series that is sure to expand your child's vocabulary! Fancy Nancy likes to use big words, and she especially likes French, which she defines for the reader. The pictures are colorful and zany enough to entertain children of all ages. The story is simple and one I feel many parents can also relate to if they have a daughter that likes to play dress-up! Who hasn't worn silly accessories to a restaurant at the request of their child! I would highly recommend this book and all others in the series.
