Book Summary
City slicker dog Edward comes to visit his canine relatives' farm and finds there's
lots to do! Even though Edward is a guest, he's willing to lend a hand around the place, and his day is very busy. Kids might be surprised about all that needs to get done every day on the farm.
Is It Any Good?
The best thing about this book are the pictures. With broad, colorful oil paints, Teague succeeds in bringing a very funny farm to life. The illustrations are also where all the humor lies -- cows playing volleyball? Check! Ants plowing a field? Check! Kids will love finding all the funny little details in each scene. They'll also like noting how out of place Edward looks in his formal suit and red bowtie as he tries to help his country kin. The text of the story may go pretty quickly, but make sure kids slow down and check out the details in the pictures.
