I never have seen this movie but I don't think age 14 like you said is very fair. I look and read all the little boxes that tell you about things like, Language,Violence,Message,And Sex, I saw nothing in the sex box,or in the Language box. And I think smoking and wine are bad In Real life, but who cares about them in the game! And I think the violence is very mild. I've watched two whole seasons of The show Heroes. You're gonna need more than this movie to try and scare me.

What Parents Need to Know
About The Ghost's Child
Parents need to know that there is little to be concerned with here: a woman throws herself into a pond but is quickly rescued, sea monsters battle, and men injured in war are talked about. There are also some passing references to wine and cigarettes.
