Fantastic read. Read it twice, and my brother has just picked it up, saying he loves it. A must have.

Ugh. I hated this book. It was really boring, especially in the beginning. The battling rabbits were kind of disturbing. Don't read this, unless you want to be bored.

For anyone who doesn't like rabbits, stay away from this book! It's difficult to understand, the characters are pathetic, and it's generally boring. Besides, rabbits are very bad role models. They constantly run from everything that scares them, their language is not at all easy to follow, and they generally have a pathetic existence.

I started reading this book after I somehow "stumbled" on the movie, and after watching it, I thought I'd give the book a try. It was much better than the movie including the character's perspectives and problems the Watership Downers encountered.

This book is what I think my favorite book. I know there is a movie out and my grade watched it. It got bloody sometimes and they edited out somethings but I like the book better. PS: I liked the very end of the movie with Hazel too.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I really enjoyed reading this book after I got passed part I 'The Journey'. I think it might be hard for people who are not good readers to read. I like how the author added a language the rabbits used, but some people won't like having to remember what the rabbit words mean. It is not very violent but there are some places where it gets rough, you will mostly here of this through stories. It may be upsetting to more sensitive readers how some rabbits are killed by humans and other rabbits. This book it good for both girls and boys as it has both boys and girls. The names may be strange because some of the boys have names that seem like girls names and vise-versa and others are just plain strange here is an example: some of the Bucks (males): Hazel, Holly, Bluebell, Laurel, & Bigwig. Some of the Does (females): Clover, Haystack, and Hyzenthlay.

Richard Adams has painted a beautifully vivd picture set in a grassy hill-embellished highland in the county of Hampshire, England filled with bands of moles, dear and plenty of rabbits. Right away, the novel casts you deep into the introspective and spiritual life of this clan of rabbits constantly in strife to find a new home in an eloquently riveting tale of merit and moral honor. I once read this 412 (depending on the issue) page novel at the wee age of 9, not being able to comprehend the complex mythological references and elegant writing, the jist of it caught my fancy. A band of rabbits trying to seek refuge amongst a world of danger, temptation and the desire to honor their godlike figure, El-Ahrairah. I reccomend this book-an anthropomorphic odessy of sorts-to those who enjoy the works of Homer, or those readers who enjoy a warm sense of gruesome imagery. As most of the book is a battle scene war strategies, warfare enthusiasts may also find interest in this fine piece of classical literature that's been prescribed by high schools all over the nation. This book may either be dark and scary or full of hope and poetic meaning-either of which is up to you-I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

I think it's a cute story about bunnies bonding together no matter what happens, but it is way violent.
