No graphic violence or death, but there is fighting.
  • Language:

    Not an issue.
  • Consumerism:

What Parents Need to Know

This review of Bionicle was written by Erik Lande

Parents need to know that this is an enjoyable game for all ages. Gameplay is long-lasting and not repetitive. Violence is kept to a minimum, as fighting an enemy is presented as freeing the creature from an evil influence rather than injuring it. Commercialism is the major concern, as the game is based on a toy-set.

More on Bionicle

What’s the Story?

BIONICLE is a fantasy adventure game based on the popular Lego toys of the same name. The object of the game is to save your island from an evil force using a group of heroes known as the Toa, who all represent different elemental forces and have corresponding powers. In order to save the island the player must complete a series of quests, all presented in stunning visual graphics, and defeat the enemy.

The game offers a wide variety of gameplay; from exploring different regions on foot, by swimming, by snowboarding, by surfing on lava, to soaring through the trees by jumping and using springboards. Close

Is It Any Good?

Multiple hours of gameplay are available without the action becoming repetitive. Violence is mostly nongraphic and is kept to a minimum as fighting an enemy is presented as freeing the creature from an evil influence rather than injuring it.

Commercialism is a concern, as the primary purpose of this game seems to be to increase awareness of, and interest in, the toys. That said, the commercial aspect in fact is treated well, and does not tend to be overtly presented. Close

I rate this title iffy for age 2 and give it 3.0

    An average game

While I did think the game was fun at first, in about 15 minutes it started getting rather boring. Beating the game is really easy too so it was done in about 5 days (if not less). The game has a lot of commercialism because it is based off of lego toys and is sort of based off of the Bionicle movie. Even the unlockables talk about new Lego toys.

5-10, The others will be bored

Kids over 10 will be bored out of their minds with the bad graphics, poor story and terrible fighting. No fighting to be scared of or language or drugs. So NOT WORTH BUYING!!!!!!!!!!!
