When i started playing this i was a little disappointed to see that there were a few Glitches. First Off, when i shot an enemy the bullet holes were flashing in and out of view. Secondly, after killing an enemy near a wall he blinked in and out of view for awhile. Lastly, after killing yet another enemy he looked like he was having a seizure. The language in this game really isn't that bad, nothing too strong. The Violence is pretty intense and gruesome in some instances. For example you can have the perspective of your glaive and sever enemies heads, Cut them in half, and dismember their limbs. There isn't really an over the top abundance of blood that i can see. Maybe kids 12 and under might get a little scared during one level where you're in a dark cellar thing and zombies come at you from all sides out of the water, that's about it.

What Parents Need to Know
This review of Dark Sector was written by Marc Saltzman
Parents need to know that if this video game were a movie, would be rated "R." The core game-play component is killing mutated beasts, some of whom look half-human, half-machine, while others are wearing full-body protective gear. Slicing and dismembering enemies causes blood to splash out of their bodies before they slump to the ground. For dramatic effect, some kills are in slow-motion, and from the blade's perspective, so they can be quite grisly. The game also has a few scenes that can get scary where zombie-like enemies jump out at you in the graveyard level.
Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the morality of killing humans in a video game. Is taking someone's life in a game an innocent virtual (yet visceral) thrill or is it potentially damaging outside of the game world by desensitizing the player to violence? Also, is it more acceptable, morally, if the humans have been transformed into mutants, as in Dark Sector, or does it not matter their state?
More on Dark Sector
What’s the Story?
The first byproduct of your powerful arm is a throwable "glaive" -- a three-bladed boomerang -- that can slice and dice enemies even from a distance, before whirling back into your hand. Later you can control the direction of the blade, shown in slow-motion, or have it explode on impact. Toss in weapons such as shotguns, automatic rifles and rocket launchers (the latter of which will be required to take down helicopters), and you're a force to be reckoned with.

Good Game..A little glitchy in some spots

great game
This game is pretty awesome, though somewhat gory..i was expecting more from this though...it almost seems as if they released it before they were ready. The blood on the bodies of your enemies is "glitchy". The violence is pretty intense, you can control your glaives flight and cut enemies heads, arms and legs off as well as cutting them in half. It isnt bloody overall...blood can be seen on the floor and on bodies as well as in various parts of the environments. Some parts may scare younger children...as an example, in one level your in a dark basement and there are zombies coming at you out of the water on the floor. Language...i mean....the worst word ive heard thus far is "Sh*t"...not much of an issue there....no sexual content...the message may be a little iffy because your fighting these guys that are shooting at whoever they see despite the fact that some are not "infected". I havent watched all the cutscenes but in the one after the Prologue "chapter 1" an unarmed man tied in a chair is shot in the head..

Fun at first, then it gets repetitive
in this game, u play as a guy who's just going on some super secret mission. then he gets infected by some wierd virus and he turns into a killing machine equipped with a weapon called the glaive. This is a very violent game with blood and decapitating and all that good stuff. Swearing isn't a big issue. I think anyone 13 and older can handle this.....It's worth renting, so go rent it!
