What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about heroism and safety. Review safety lessons learned playing this game, and remind kids that some rescue jobs are best left to trained professionals.

What's the story?

What's the story?

A dormant volcano has erupted and trapped hikers, a powerful storm has caused fires and blackouts in a city, and a massive flood has invaded another city and stranded its inhabitants. In RESCUE HEROES MISSION SELECT, kids become the heroes who fix these disasters and rescue people. This software presents natural disasters in a matter-of-fact manner, and teaches children how to take charge in an emergency.

Kids will be drawn to this software because it allows them to team up with the famous Fisher-Price Rescue Heroes including Billy Blazes, Gil Gripper, and Jake Justice. They also will love that they can control eight powerful rescue vehicles -- they can zoom in on a hydrofoil boat to pick up people stranded on floating debris, or they may have to spray out fires using the hose on a fire truck. This software makes rescuing people easy; in the process, children learn practical things such as staying away from live wires.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

By presenting the disasters in a non-threatening manner (you do not see any injuries and no one dies), the game helps children feel comfortable stepping into a leadership role. They must use logical thinking to prioritize how to help all the people in need. Kids will work through six different rescue missions; but once they are finished, the missions remain the same.
