What parents need to know
Parents need to know that Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fast-paced, action-filled video game based on the animated series of the same name. Like the cartoon, it contains a good deal of fantasy violence, but nothing too graphic. This is a far more kid-friendly version of Batman than we've seen in years. Also like the cartoon, humor is a big presence. The show and the game are both based around heroes teaming up to battle evil together, so cooperative play is a big feature.
Positive role models:
While these superheroes do use violence as a means to an end, they are very clearly on the side of good. No dark, brooding anti-heroes here. And based on the witty banter between them, they really seem to like each other. Friendship and teamwork are highlighted.
Ease of play:
The controls seem a little more complicated than they need to be, with many different button combinations to learn in order to perform the game's many different moves and attacks. However, it seems that you can do pretty well with random button-mashing, too.
Violence:
Batman and his super-buddies beat up the bad guys with lots of high-flying punches, kicks, and throws. Some of the heroes can shoot energy beams. As for the villains, some of them use plain-old machine guns. The violence is all very cartoony, though, with no blood at all. "Dying" only makes you lose some coins.

Language:
Nothing worse than the term, "kick butt." There's also a potty-training joke in reference to a cat-themed villain.
Consumerism:
This game ties in to the animated series of the same name.
