Go Play Lumberjacks
What’s the Story?
Timber! Majesco has come up with GO PLAY LUMBERJACKS, a collection of minigames based around the lumberjack competitions of the Pacific Northwest. Here, you'll choose a character and play about 20 minigames using the Wii remote. These games revolve around log-rolling in water, sawing, climbing, cutting, and hitting targets with axes. The games are playing by balancing the remote horizontally, shaking it, or aiming and pressing the A button to throw an axe. You can add your Balance Board, but it doesn't add anything too special.
Is It Any Good?
The game is a lot of fun, but only for a while. You'll enjoy competing with the wacky characters and playing with up to four of your pals. You'll get trophies, unlock new characters, and get new axes if you come in first of second in the competition. But some of the games, like those involving sawing, cutting, and log-rolling, are often repetitive. And the Coin Grab game, where you collect coins while balanced on slippery logs, is way too hard for single player contests. Also, the characters' mouths don't move and they say the same things over and over again as the same 'Turkey in the Straw'-like music repeats incessantly. Ultimately, there's not enough here for this to be called a "must-have" game.
