Being a hardcore fan of the MK series, I was extremely disappointed with how toned down they made the game. Maybe its just me, but MK just isnt MK without the hard core fatalities and arena traps.
A great party game but the story is overly difficult. THe more squimish can turn off the blood but this does not stop body and clothing damage. The later can reveal female breasts
It is a bit violent but not too violent , It is only like Tekken and Soulcalibur in terms of Violence. Yes , there is blood , but it is VERY small and unrealistic you can turn it off but it will not make much of a difference since the blood is only small and very unrealistic. Age Range : 9 - 13. This is a good substitution if you cannot get Mortal Kombat. P.S : I REALLY do not understand why the website says 15+ because to be honest it can really fit in to the E 10+ rating without the blood , maybe.
I love the game in my opinion the game. There is not that much blood and gore that I noticed. The only time I noticed it is when you are supposed to finsh your opponent and do fatality. It might not be sutibale for some, but in my opinion it is not that bad.
This game is soooooooooooo cool! The fighting is very intense with awesome special moves. The graphics are a little cartoony, but in a good sense. Really, the concern is the violence. It is pretty brutal with some blood (that can be turned off). And to the person who wants fatalities: JUST LOOK THEM UP ON GOOGLE!!!! (or Bing or Yahoo. Doesnt matter.)
Two things. One, this game is awesome! Second, I have a few Ultimate Tips. If your Flash, use Around the World a lot and you will win. If your Scorpion, use your knife and drag him in, it's impossible to evade! For other characters, Warp (If possible) behind them and kill them! I just remembered, if you know the Fatalitys and the Heroic Brutalitys, please post them, OMG!
Toned down so much even an 8 year old could play it
It's nowhere near as violent as the Mortal Kombat games of the past, and that's only because of DC comics.
There's obviously good role models on the DC side (Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel, Green Lantern, The Flash and Wonder Woman) and obviously it has some DC villians in there too (Darkseid, Deathstroke, Catwoman, Lex Luthor and The Joker) but no matter how you look at it, parents and such should be thankful for the older Mortal Kombat games, because if it weren't for them, there would be no ESRB and therefore, no ratings on video games.
It's a simple enough game, consisting of button combos and in-match mini-games (Test your might, Free fall and Close Kombat).
Plus, who DOESN'T want to beat Superman in a fight?
Enclosing,
FINISH HIM!!!
This game is like marvel vs capcom 4 next gen systems and its really fun and its pretty cool how u can put liukang against the joker or kano against batman. parent mite b thinkin might b thinking o hell this is a mortal kombat game scratch tht off the list 4 josh and billy 2 violent 4 them well no thts not how this game is they reduced the blood of the game and made it T rated and because somthin says mortal kombat or,grand theft auto, or call of duty doesnt mean its bad!
I think this is probably one of the best games I have ever played. The game is not graphic, let alone gory. You can turn off blood, which admitted, occurs often if you dont. The game has several good guys and a few bad guys, and the women are "bouncy", but I think that this game is a great way to let kids begin to see if they could handle the Mortal Kombat series.
mortal kombat vs dc universe is a waste of time and $$$
This game is the second worst in the series, obviously after Armageddon. This game is no fun at all, with a disappointing decreased amount of gore and blood, weakly entertaining fatalities that don't even spatter the floors with blood, and a disappointing way to try to make heroes fit in with "heroic brutalities". This game was an absolute waste, and I still can't believe I actually enjoyed this game over Tekken 6! But just for a fact, one of the Joker's fatalities actually made it on to become the basis of a Shang Tsung fatality in MK9. In other words, this game is a terrible attempt to bring back bloodless fighting like a Street Fighter copy, and it definitely shouldn't ever be bought by fans who know their fight. It's #2 on the worst MK list, and it's got #2 smeared all over it.
Great game. I don't personally own it, but I've played it at my brother's house and it's pretty cool. My 9 year old son and I play Mortal Kombat 9 (the newest and best Mortal Kombat yet). And I've got to say, there is absolutely no content to be worried about in this game. There are many role models in the game (they're super heroes...). So chill out and get your kid this game.
it's a really good game i played it when my friend came over too bad it has a lot of different controls for different charaters but i basically just punch and kick
This is a great fighting game and interesting story mode. Very nice that you can turn blood off. I thought this would be good enough when my 9 old son was watching. Because some of the characters are kind of scary looking, he had nightmares.
Follow the Teen recommended rating and play it safe. Otherwise, it makes a good rental for adults.
