Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (Wii)

common sense media says

Violent 3-D fighter, but no blood; for fans of the series.

parents & educators say

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 is a fighting game in which characters use their fists, feet, and various bladed weapons to attack on another. A couple of characters are impaled in a cut-scene, but there is no blood. Since our heroes resort to violence and name-calling at the first sign of any trouble, they aren't particularly good role models. Plus, mild sexual references made by the game's characters during cut-scenes.

Positive messages: As with other games in this series, Naruto and his friends use violence to get out of most jams. That, plus the occasional sexual reference and name calling, means the game sends an overall negative message to children.
Positive role models: Naruto and his friends are good people, but they tend to use violence to solve any and all
problems. The group also uses insults to make themselves feel better
when compared to their friends and enemies.
Ease of play: Even though it’s simply a fighting game, the controls are quite complex and could give gamers with smaller hands a workout when using the Wii remote. Button combos are easy to learn, but the layout on the Remote is difficult to deal with. Gamers can use the Classic Controller, the GameCube controller, or a combination of Wii remote alone or with the nunchuk to find the perfect control scheme.
Violence: This game is based around martial arts fighting and includes some bladed weapons. No blood appears in the game, but magical attacks are used quite often. Two characters appear to be impaled in short cut-scenes.
Sex: Some female characters tend to fall into stereotypical roles at some points within the game, but are generally equally as strong and tough as males. Also, there are some implied sexual jokes involving a ‘Make-out Manual' as well as some references to characters named Sexy Jutsu (magic) and Pervy Sage (a teacher)
Language: There are a few sexual terms, including "pervy" and "sexy." Also, characters call one another names such as "idiot" and "jerk."
Consumerism: Naruto is a worldwide brand with licensed cartoons, toys, and video games appearing almost everywhere.
Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Not applicable.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about playing games online, and how we can protect ourselves. What sort of threats exist? How can we learn to recognize them? What safety precautions should we all take?
  • Families can also discuss how popular brands are often marketed to children, and how to identify a quick cash grab versus a game of higher quality.

What's the story?

What's the story?
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: CLASH OF NINJA REVOLITION 3 is a follow-up to one of the better fighting games to grace the Nintendo Wii, and it doesn’t disappoint. Following Naruto back to the Hidden Leaf Village, players meet some old friends and enemies while fighting to prove Naruto and his ninja troop’s worth to rescue Gaara. It doesn't evole the franchise much, but the foundation is solid. Using animation from the cartoon series, the story unfolds in cutscenes that introduce the upcoming fight.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3  is a fairly deep fighting experience that utilizes every button on the Wii Remote, but the layout of the controller does make things somewhat trying at times. Thankfully, the game allows the use of the GameCube controller as well as the Wii Classic controller which both make controlling the game a lot easier. Jumping, dodging, and countering attacks are performed with various button presses, and the animation is very smooth and evokes the style. The game looks quite sharp for Wii title, featuring cartoon cut scenes straight from the Anime series as well as nicely detailed 3-D representations of the characters from the show.

Online interaction: Online play is available here in both Friend only matches or against a random stranger.

Pft, sexual references? Please.
I own the game, unlocked everything, and it's fun. There are no sexual references from what I know, seeing as I play it everyday since I got it, and there's no blood, however it's violence. I love the game, it's awesome, and a perfect gift for any Narutard. :D

Super Awsome Ice Cream with Super Epic Sauce and Sprinkles
I have had this game for 7 months now and it is still super fun. the game is literatly going to take you a a lot of time to finsh since items i the shop cost a lot of ryo. you can earn ryo by beat people. i have only noticed one pervy thing and that is Anko's Super attack she filngs them in the air and sits on them a little perverted when they fall back to the ground. some battles are a little hard suck as Nine Tail Naruto VS Dedaria. The wi-fi fights are glichy and freeze now and then. I say if you dont have fun the first time try again. Cause ninja fight is AWSOME!!!!!

Really? Sexual references and violence? Come on!
Ok, this game is pure! It does have fighting yes, but it rarely goes beyond a hit! And you would probably say sexual reference because there ARE girls in it! If there were none, now that would be wrong too! Still, I love this game! Great graphics, shop system, and storyline! Sadly, it may not beat Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on Wii, so it loses a star. AWESOME GAME

T?!
I honestly think this game could have passed for a mature E10+. There is no blood or dismemberment however some of the cutscences with their specials show some violent acts such as people getting impaled. I let my little brother ( he's eight years old) play ( he is pretty mature), but I do cringe when I hear Naruto say p**vy. Is it worth it: This game has a fun battle system and good voice-overs, but the storymode is terrible. Luckily, you can unlock characters by just battling your cousin, neighbor... or some random guy from Japan. Overall this is a good game on wii. 8/10

Good game, not for children under 10
A very well-made game, it is my opinion that this game is good for 12 year-old's and up. If you have a 10 or 11 year-old asking to to get this, I think that you should talk to your child about violence and how it is not good to play video games that are about killing people. However, many children, I find (myself included), do enjoy a certain level of action and suspense. This game is, in my opinion, very fun, albeit the complications that come with the controls. There is no blood or gore, and as for language, the worst words that may be used by the characters are "idiot", "jerk", and/or "darn", hardly inappropriate language for even someone at the age of 10 or 11. As far as sexual themes go, the females are just as powerful as the males, and the "make-out manual" is just a book within the series that one of the characters writes. The "sexy jutsu" is a magicky sort of thing that is referenced in the game, but never showed. Sexual refrences such as "pervy" and "sexy" are used occasionally, and one character is nicknamed "pervy sage", but there are no serious sexual refrences or themes.
