The game can be pretty violent at times but other than the gore the game is fine for any teen. I would however not recommend this to anyone under thirteen, I doubt they could handle the blood.

Ok for adults, not for kids or teens.
This violent and explicit game allows you to play as a super villan and brutaly kill anyone you want including horribly disfigured zombies. the plot is interesting and the voice acting is great. Prototype is defintley one of my favorites and I recommend it to all adults.

great game! But bloody and explict.
Great game, but the frequent, strong language and the extreme blood and gore make the game only for adults.

Unrealistic
The blood and gore is extremely unrealistic, and should not be a problem.

My son plays this game. I've watched him do it before withh his friends. I honestly don't think it's bad for anyone of the age 10 or up that is the least bit mature. There's a couple cons mixed in, but they enjoy it. That's what counts. :)

Perfect for tweens
The blood and gore is very unrealistic, and most children know not to swear. They have their own independent minds.

Perfect for 10+ but under is not okay
I believe that the ESRB is overrated. I also think that our kids can think for themselves, and make their own decisions and the video game won't affect their choices

Prototype is a Great Sandbox style game
In Prototype you play as Alex Mercer, a man who was molded into a weapon by a virus. He's exacting revenge on the men who made him what he is (The Blackwatch). You'll smash and eviscerate anyone in your path, civilians, infected and military alike. There are ample amounts of blood and gore, you can slice people in half and blow them to smithereens with rocket launchers, tanks, and even your own fists (The latter being the least gruesome because it only ends up in a smatter of blood and a red rib cage thing). You'll hear colorful language throughout your gameplay experience, ranging from "D*mn" all the way up to the "F-Bomb". I recommend this game for people who love eviscerating hapless civilians and killing zombies all for the greater good.

like the incredible hulk (the film) but not the game

Great Story, Ok graphics and ALOT of blood
My son really wanted to play this game so I checked it out. It is very interesting and although some missions are a little repetitive, it looks, overall, pretty fun. However, there is a lot of blood and gore and that factor initially made me think twice about letting him play this game. But I guess that depends on the parent, and the child. My 14 year old seems relatively mature and I believed that he could handle the blood and gore. So, its up to you.

Ok for anyone
The only problem I found was in the storyline, if you avoid it completely and just free-roam. The game would be rated Teen, Only other problem is the language

I just bought this game and it rightaway was one of my favorites. This game has great graffics and a very fun story line. The levels can be very difficult at times.(paicents is a vertue in this game.)They don't corse very often and when they do its very fast. It is very gory but thats what gives it its spazazzzzzzzzz! In short THIS GAME IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

?!?!?!
I played this game the day it came out and loved it as for language you don`t really need to know what there saying untill a main part in which there is not much swearing and the blood and gore is extrmly satisfying especially when you rip people in half and tentacles shoot out your body to devour your victim.

Best game ever made!
