Parents need to know that this game has heavy doses of cartoon-like violence. Players destroy bad robots and kill evil aliens using science-fiction weaponry that includes a thermonuclear rocket launcher, rapid-fire razor blades, and an electric whip. Defeated robots disappear in small explosions and bested aliens wink out of existence in a flash of light, sometimes leaving behind puddles of green or orange blood. The game's humor revolves around the violence: Many of the weapons are designed to be funny, and villains often joke about our heroes' impending deaths.
Violence:The player fights evil robots and aliens using a wide variety of weapons, including guns, explosives, whips, and blunt objects. Blood appears, but it is either green or orange and always cartoon-like in appearance.
Language:Infrequent use of mildly coarse language.
Consumerism:No real-world product placement, but there are plenty of in-game advertisements for a fake company called Gadgetron, making the commercial concept of branding an underlying theme.
Drinking, drugs, & smoking:Intoxicating beverages are vaguely referenced (a neon sign depicts what appears to be a beer stein in one enemy stronghold, and a pirate mentions that he'd be willing to take his pay in the form of "grog"), but it is never seen or consumed

this ratchet and clank game is fun. it has a little bit of language, but fun. one time i heard the word a*s and b***h in the game. i guess this is why the ESRB rated it E10+. this game is probably not safe for ages under 7 or 8. the graphics are awesome, by the way. the weapons are fun and cool!
This game is great!! It is fun and exciting. I never got board. The violence is not that bad. It just animated. There is some language, but not bad. They say about 2-3 bad words in the whole game. For example they said: the a-- word and that really all i can remember. Overall great game. Appropriate for 10+.
Okay, this is a great game and all, but that doesn't mean that this is aimed for kids. I actually think they aimed it at Teens-Adults. First, it contains a lot of disturbing humor, like: "What is the "Balls" everybody is talking about"? It also have some Language, like Hell and A**: And third, some of the monsters in this game are pretty scary. The black evil Dinosaur would scare kids to hell, if they ever saw them. So... At least 12+, would I say^^
wow. just, wow. i was amazed from start to finish with everything insomniac has done to make this the gaming reason for ps3. there was so much imagination, that you could be emersed in gaming pleasure for days on end. sure there are a few words that wernet in the PS2 ones, but, who cares, we hear them on TV at least 1200 times a day. Parents, great game, you wont be dissapointed.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is a game for all ages. Its got a good story (not the best story),
fun gameplay, and wonderful graphics. A parent's main concern might be the violence. Yes, the game does have guns and other weapons but most of them don't even look real and only fire lasers and rockets. There is blood in the game but its not realistic blood and is usually orange or some other color. As for language, that is your least concern. The A-word is about all I heard ("screwed" if you count that as a bad word)which is used one time. There's also some innuendo but most kids will miss it. Like I said this game's for all ages and definitely worth picking up.
This game is awesome, no matter what age you are. Go around and fight to throwt the efforts of pirates, a galictic empire, and the atempt to wipe out the main character's (Ratchet) race. A fairly fast moving game with humor coming at every turn, this is a game that you'll want to play more then once.
its not fair to say its the worst game ever, becuase i played the demo and it wasnt very good, but who knows if the real game will be good or not. there was lots of sci-fi violence in the demo but it was so unrealistic it shouldnt be a problem.
Plays like a disney movie. Gets boring for older kids quickly.
My little sister got this game for Christmas, and I had great expectations for it, because I've heard so much good about this series. She played it a few times, quickly grew bored with the obvious storyline, simple gameplay, and uninvolving characters. Frankly, I played it just to see how it was, and it was very boring for me as well. Good kids games, like movies, can often interest and engage adults as well. This game didn't do it for me, but more importantly, it didn't do it for an 11 year old kid, the target audience of this game. I would recommend it for younger kids though. 7 year olds maybe...its not as good as the good old Spyro games and the other Playstation1 classics, but it plays like a Pixar Disney movie, the graphics are good, the controls well made, its simple, the violence is what you'd expect from the typical new Disney movie....bland....easy....good for the younger ones. Not my taste.
I love this game as much as the others. The game is constructed as a sci-fi fantasy type, with space pirates and a hilariously tiny tyrant that makes up the main antagonist. There are a couple of shady characters (such as the smuggler), and the occasional coarse language (such as the help desk describing the destructive capabilies of a certain weapon). Overall, lots of humor and fun. It also provides a good plot. I'd call it movie-like one minute, game in another.
This is a fun space adventure where you can shoot down the enimies eith a viarety of deathly waepons. There is no blood but lots of fights. There is a few good messages in this game. Small amount of language but super mild.
