Parents need to know that this is an expansion pack for The Sims 3, and players must already have a copy of The Sims 3 installed on their computer for the expansion pack to work. The expansion introduces more than three dozen high-end furnishings, electronics, hairstyles, and clothing for purchase.
Educational value:Some of the furniture pieces might be a good jumping off point to learning about classic furniture designs.
Positive messages:For better or worse, the message here is that expensive, trendy things cost more and make people happier.
Positive role models:This expansion introduces no new characters or role models, but makes the characters of The Sims 3 more materialistic.
Ease of play:Introduces no new gameplay elements - gameplay is identical to The Sims 3.
Violence:Although the expansion itself introduces no new violence into The Sims 3, the core game does include some. Sims can taunt, argue, and get into physical fights with each other. Sims with nasty personality traits may actually feel better after beating up another Sim.
Sex:There's no sexually explicit content introduced in the Stuff Pack itself (unless you count the heart-shaped vibrating bed), but courtship and romance do play a big part in the core The Sims 3 game. Sims with the Romance trait will aspire to a life of having as many lovers and make-out sessions as possible, and if married, will be inclined to cheat on their spouses. Sims can have both heterosexual and same-sex relationships and can be seen jumping under the sheets in bed to make "woohoo" (which is accompanied by groans and giggles).
Consumerism:This game is an expansion pack for the popular The Sims 3 game and is a way to renew interest in the game. The loft items are typically the most expensive in their category. The manual that comes with this expansion game is presented like a catalog with write-ups on each product.
