What's It About?
THINKSMART, like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, is a series of questions and puzzles that will supposedly build and strengthen your intellect if you use them every day in the way you would a physical exercise regimen. ThinkSmart drills you on memory, logic, math, spatial reasoning, and so on. The challenges are, on the whole, more difficult than those found in those other similarly-themed games.
Is It Any Good?
The brain training challenges of ThinkSmart can be a bit too difficult to be fun. On the other hand, they are so challenging that when you start to improve your score, you can feel a real sense of accomplishment. Fans of these brainpower games might want to give ThinkSmart a shot, for the sake of variety and an added level of challenge. Newcomers to this genre, however, may get turned off by the steep difficulty level here. And younger players should definitely opt for ThinkSmart Kids.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the types of skills that come into play for the different exercises in the game. How can each be applied to real life?
Is a game like this truly a measure of how smart you are? Do the scores you achieve in the game have any bearing on how you do at school?
