What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) in which combat is central to the gameplay. Attacking other players is encouraged, though not strictly required. Combat animations, though bloodless, include realistic swordplay and end with animated death throes. Characters wear outfits are revealing and they can be stripped to their underwear. As with all MMOGs, Warhammer Online is an online game in which communications between players are unpredictable and may include unwanted discussions of sex, race, religion, or other themes.

Educational value: Success in this online game depends on cooperative game play and strategy.
Positive messages: Players are encouraged to kill other player characters. Quests are many and varied, which mostly treat the player as hero who kills or captures bad guys and helps good guys. One faction's good guy is another's bad guy.
Violence: Players fight computer-controlled characters and other players to the death with medieval weaponry (bows, swords, axes, etc.) and magic. Combat is generally bloodless.
Sex: Characters wear racy clothing and can be stripped to their underwear.
Language: Online interactions can include any kind of language in free chat. Game settings include a profanity filter that is on by default, but this can be turned off or circumvented.
Consumerism: Not applicable.
Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Non-player characters make reference to alcohol. Players can engage in the cultivating skill, which allows them to grow varieties of tobacco.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about online safety with their teenage children, as well as explore the effects of anonymity on human behavior. Do people behave differently online than they do in person? Where did these heroic fantasy come from? In a war situation, why do both sides in a conflict each think they are "right"?

What's the story?

What's the story?
WARHAMMER ONLINE: AGE OF RECKONING (a.k.a. WAR) is a massively multiplayer online game set in a medieval fantasy world in which two factions, Order and Destruction, are in a constant state of war. Players guide their character through the game world and its myriad storylines in order to advance their side's position within the overall conflict.

Each faction has three playable character races with different careers available to each. Players start by choosing a faction, their character's race, and a career track. They then develop their character by completing quests for experience points, rewards, and in-game currency. The central focus of Warhammer Online is on Realm-versus-Realm (RvR) combat, in which factions fight against each other for control of strategic points within the game world. Players can directly invade the opposing forces' cities, meet them on the battlefield, or engage them in combat within story-driven scenarios.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Warhammer Online is a feature-rich and sophisticated online game. Characters are highly customizable with skills and equipment, and success in the game depends on a basic understanding of how probability-based games work. In order to maximize their chances of success, players must become familiar with not only their own faction/race/career tactics, but with those of other character types as well. Advanced players may find the RvR play style engaging, but newbie players will likely find it daunting. This game does not cater well to those who prefer short play times and minimal human interaction.

A Need for Warhammer Fans and Any MMO Fan!
I got this game a while ago and it's amazing. It's a lot easier than WOW (World of Warcraft). Also it is a lot more easier to level. The game teaches you to work togather in groups to take down the enemy and if your the Empire you can be a warrior priest which is a good role model for kids. It is educational by the fact you learn a little about medevial times and team work. It is not a bad game and if you want you can block other players from talking to you if they bother you. This a realy good game.

Good games for Warhammer fans
This is a good warhammer game i am a 40k fan but i liked it. The violence wasn't that bad you pretty much attack players or monsters. The sexual behavior is terrible anyone can say just about anything they want and can be striped to their under wear not as bad as other games, people can swear to.
