First Words Halloween
Parent and Kid Reviews
Is It Any Good?
FIRST WORDS HALLOWEEN may have a short shelf-life, as do all things Halloween, but the good news is that if you buy it for pre-readers this year, it can still be useful in the early reader/early speller years to come. Kids will grasp the drag-and-drop concept immediately and will enjoy seeing their favorite Halloween characters and costumes. A phonics setting helps out kids just getting the basics down, and the grayed-out but visible letters help as well. As kids get older you can switch to spelling letter by letter, gray out the letters entirely, and make them drop each letter in the correct order. After a few rounds on the toughest setting, expect all your kid's fun Halloween stories to include A+ spelling.
