What parents need to know

Parents need to know that iStunt 2 - Snowboard is a physics-based snowboarding game that focuses on tricks and big air. Players control a boarder who rides in a series of anything-but-the-real-world conditions, scoring points for perfect landings and mid-air tricks. Using the gyroscope to control the rider, players must tilt their iDevice from side to side to change his trajectory. Early levels are fairly docile, but if the player is advanced enough to make it deeper into the game, there is some grisly content, such as a level where you must avoid giant spinning blades or be dismembered. (And given the level of difficulty of the game at that point, you'll likely hit them several times.) The app also has minor language concerns, with a level named "Hell Yeah!" The iPad version (called iStunt 2 HD - Snowboard) costs more, but is the same game and has HD graphics.

  • The controls are extraordinarily simple, generally requiring you to tilt your iDevice to the right or left or touch the screen at an appropriate time. Getting the balance just right takes a while, though -- and the game ratchets up the difficulty quickly. By the second half of the game, it's very hard to complete a level in one try.
  • Your rider collapses in a heap when he fails to pull off a stunt or jump, uttering an audible "oof." In later levels of the game, he faces extraordinarily fatal obstacles, such as a spinning blade that can result in dismemberment when hit, although no blood is shown.
  • Character choices include a woman with cleavage and another with an exposed midriff; both have exaggerated dimensions.
  • One of the levels is named "Hell yeah!"
  • Not applicable.
  • Minor privacy concerns. Players can opt in to Apple’s Game Center to track scores and achievements, and for some games, challenge friends. With Game Center, players can send and receive friend requests using an email address or Game Center nickname, revealing the first and last name associated with each party’s Apple ID and, in the case of email requests, the sender’s email address.

Is it any good?

Originally a flash game for the PC, iStunt 2 has transitioned well to the iOS world. While it's hardly advanced, the game can be a fun for players with patience, offering a wide number of challenges and checkpoints (so that when you inevitably fail at one of those challenges, you don't have to start over from the beginning). The difficulty is a factor, though -- as the game gets hard fast. And the violence levels increase dramatically (and unexpectedly) as you get further into the game. It all looks great, is easy to control and is loaded with over 40 levels, which is a bit more heft than you might expect from a title like this. Paying for a game that can be played for free online might seem a little odd, but consider it a tariff for being able to play while you're on the go.

iEasy
I've got to admit, this game just about breaks every law of physics, but it's very fun and addictive! I played the demo, and that was pretty fun. I suggest you play it at Miniclip to get the full experience. The only problem was that it was a bit too easy. I found myself zipping through every level with little to no difficulty. Overall though, it is a very fun game!

AWSOME GAME
This is a great game for kids around the age of 10 or 11. 99 out of 100 kids now days can easily take a little blood or a little swearing, actually most prefer it. if your kids are alright with a small amount of cartoon blood then they should be fine. There is no drugs, alcohol or anything related to sex in this game.
