Parents need to know that iWriteWords is a nifty app that helps to teach kids how to write the letters of the alphabet, numbers up to 20, and simple words. Since the process of teaching kids to write uses a follow-the-numbered dots approach, it helps if kids already know how to count and read numbers up to 10 in order to play this game.
iWriteWords uses a kid favorite, connect-the-dots, to teach numbers and letters. Against brightly colored backgrounds, kids drag Mr. Crab through numbered dots in the right sequence, drawing letters at the same time. Each time kids complete a word, a cute drawing appears, the word is spoken, and other children cheer for you. Kids can then tilt the phone to make the letters tumble into a hungry vortex. Magical.
