The very hands-on, tactile approach to learning that is common to the Montessori school of educational thought is well represented here in A MONTESSORI SENSORIAL EXERCISE - BROWN STAIR & PINK TOWER. In each exercise, the stair and tower pieces are very, very similar in size and shape, making it a true challenge for toddlers (or early preschoolers) to differentiate between them and set them in the proper order. This one particular lesson (presented in over a dozen different exercises) is the app's single goal, though. Parents who subscribe to the Montessori method will undoubtedly appreciate the app -- and its sleek, artistic visuals don't hurt either. But those new to Montessori may be left wondering where the rest of the lesson is.
