Rayman Jungle Run
What's It About?
Players will help Rayman jump, fly, wall-jump, and ultimately fight his way through 40 levels. Most of these actions are done by touching anywhere on the screen (i.e. tap to jump, tap repeatedly to wall-jump, tap and hold to fly, etc.) When you're forced to fight, a \"punch\" button appears in the lower right corner of the screen. You'll use these skills to collect Lums and advance to the next level. If you achieve perfect scores on five levels, it will unlock a more challenging series of adventures.
Is It Any Good?
Rayman Jungle Run is a goofy, fun, and sometimes oddly relaxing platform game that is a near-perfect blend of whimsy and skill. It masters the "easy to play, difficult to master" rule of gameplay and is both welcoming to people who aren't familiar with the series and enjoyable for veterans.
Rayman's friends/costars from the console versions aren't showcased in here, but that's forgivable, given the game's casual focus. It's laudable that players can keep progressing fairly easily, but obsessive ones who collect every Lum are rewarded with extra levels. When it comes to console games making the move to mobile, there's not a better example than this.
