SLIDE-A-MA-JIG is not a unique idea, but it's a particularly excellent execution. The app lets your child slide sections of a cartoon character left and right to make funny combinations, or they can simply hit the left/right buttons to scroll through the available characters. Here's what makes Slide-a-ma-jig stand out: Rather than the usual three parts to mix up, there are five -- feet, legs, torso, head, and hat (or other headgear). The cartoons are delightfully goofy, even when they're not in a mixed-up state. Finally, the way the pieces fit together is really well done: You won't see the typical straight-line cuts going across the screen, which makes for well-integrated creations.
