Stickman Snowboarder
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's It About?
Players use two buttons to accelerate and jump in an increasingly difficult series of courses. By pressing the arrow on the left side of the screen rapidly and continuously, they gain speed, while the right button propels them into the air to do tricks. They have five lives for each course and can restart from checkpoints when they lose one, but if they lose all five, they must restart from the beginning. Players are rewarded for getting a high score on a level, completing it without dying, and collecting all of the tokens on each level.
Is It Any Good?
The Stickman franchise has never been an easy one, so it's hard to figure out what the developers were thinking when they decided not to include a tutorial in Stickman Snowboarder. The gameplay is fairly basic, but the barebones instructions don't really help new players out. Those who stick with it will find a sense of sameness to the levels, which get harder but lack anything interesting like power-ups or shortcuts.
While in-app purchases are fairly frequent these days, the game doesn't give players an opportunity to unlock the new content through in-game performance, which seems greedy. It's not a terrible game, mind you. It's just one that seems to fail to live up to its potential.
