What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Trick or Treating is a very simple mapping app that uses Google Maps to help you create a list of directions from one stop to another. You can bookmark the locations using street addresses or GPS coordinates. Like all navigation apps, parents will want to use it as a tool and not consider it a foolproof child-safety solution.

  • Any teen or adult who knows how to use Google Maps or similar mapping tools will be able to use this app immediately. It's basically just bookmarking a list of locations that you are going to visit for trick or treating or otherwise.

Is it any good?

Whether you use it for Trick or Treating, a scavenger hunt, or selling Girl Scout cookies, whenever you have multiple stops to remember directions for, TRICK OR TREATING app can help organize your trip. Sure, you could build essentially the same sort of list by using Google maps directly, and if this app cost more that would probably be the way to go. But the low $.99 price is worth the convenience of having all of your current trip locations listed in an iPhone or iPad screen-friendly format -- and the cute pumpkin background theme is fun for Halloween night.
