U Connect
What's It About?
First, kids choose from one of four modes of play on U Connect. Then kids drag a finger strategically from dot to dot on the screen with no backtracking to eventually connect all the dots. Dotted lines are optional, lines with arrows mean kids must go that direction first. If all else fails, kids can ask for a hint or clear the screen to start over.
Is It Any Good?
The beauty of U CONNECT is its simplicity. Who knew that connecting lines with your finger could be so fun and challenging? The few rules to follow here -- no backtracking, you don't have to complete dotted lines, arrow lines mean you must go that direction first -- are easy to catch onto. If all else fails, ask for a hint or clear the screen to start over. And the extra additions to the game, such as setting a time limit or trying to reach a certain number of puzzles completed, keep this puzzle app interesting many times over. There's also a free "lite" version of this game.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Try U Connect yourself. It's good for kids to see parents try, get stumped, and try again.
Encourage your kids to think through and visualize a couple of different moves before choosing. "What do you predict will happen if you connect these lines first? Or this one next?"
