Zac is great!
I thought this was a cute movie. Zac Efron fans will like it, although the younger fans should beware of some mild language, teen drinking, and sexual references. Overall, this movies was funny and parents shouldn't be afraid to let their children watch it.

Not a movie for tweens, very entertaining though
Okay, I did enjoy this movie (I'm 43) but took my 11 year old to see it and was horrified. Generally we don't do Pg13, so perhaps I should have done some research beforehand, but it definitely wasn't appropriate for a 5th grader. She and most of her peers have just learned the facts of life, and what a condom is. To have the health teacher handing them out in class by the handful in the movie (?!) was not something I expected. The movie begins with Zac's character (a high school kid) learning his his girlfriend is pregnant. Obviously in the next few years all of these ideas will be thrown at her when she gets to middle school, but I'd like to keep the child in her while I can. The positive messages were there, and I don't have an older child so I'm not really sure what age this WOULD be appropriate for but probably 13 or 14 at the least. At the very least if you see it with a younger child ... have your remote control ready to pause and talk about some of the issues about what your own values are. There are some really good talking points.

Oh Just Go See It Already...
It's cute. Pretty tame compared to what actually goes on in most high schools. This movie actually made me like Zac Efron.

Very funny for adults!
I wouldn't let my teenager see this movie, but as an adult, if you can get past the bizarre writing, it is a very funny movie. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard in a movie! I thought the lessons learned at the end of the movie were wonderful. Great show!

Okay for older kids
A few girls are portrayed as tramps who throw themselves at Zac Efron's character, Mark--including the girl who is his daughter (but she doesn't know that "Mark" is her dad as a 17 year old). Mark is a good role model who tries to talk them into respecting themselves and attempts to persuade kids to delay sex until they are older. He also defends kids who are bullied.

If your child is emotionally mature...see it...it's a hilarious movie!!
I, as a 43 year old, have to say that I absolutely loved this movie.....who knew that a movie starring Zac Efron could make me laugh so hard that I had to wipe tears from my eyes?! While I understand some of the parents' input here, I am completely offended by some comments basically stating that "I didn't let my son/daughter see this movie, because I love them"--that is so far overboard, it's ridiculous! My 12 year old daughter watched the movie with me, and while she is, and always has been mature for her age, I do have to say that there were a couple of times where I paused the movie because she had immediate questions. I was happy to explain them. Once the movie was over, I did make a point to take 10 minutes to discuss some positive points the movie brought up (ie, teenage sex leading to pregnancy and appreciation for parents). We also discussed alcohol/drug use, peer pressure, etc. I believe the bottom line is....if you think your child (whether they are 10 or 15) is emotionally mature and responsible to see this...then see it! It was seriously hilarious! However...DO take the time to either discuss things during the movie or afterwards.

Not appropriate for any teen under 17
This movie is definitely inappropriate for ANYONE under 17, as there are just too many inappropriate role model scenes. Yes, there is ONE positive message in this film about sex before marriage, but the teens having too much fun is definitely more dramatized than the consequece of having a baby before marriage. Girls acting promiscuous is not something that should be dramatized to any young girl. Teens live for the moment and instant gratification is going to get higher ratings than the consequences of their actions. How many teens complain about a "hangover" after the GREAT party . . . need I say more????

A good movie that brings up topics to discuss with your tween
My 11 year old daughter (just about to turn 12) and I went to see this movie. I warned her ahead of time that there were going to be some language issues with the movie and there was a fight scene. The premise of the movie is based on teenage pregnancy and the difficulty it brings to life. The fight scene is actually the father trying to keep a creep away from his daughter. After the movie my daughter and I had a long discussion about the issues the movie brought up. We often discuss the problem with getting pregnant as a teenager and that even with birth control you are not 100% protected. This movie provided another opportunity to reinforce that making bad decisions in high school can make your adult life more difficult. I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't going to be proactive with your tween and discuss the movie with them or if they are going to be resistant to you discussing issues with them. But if you have an open dialogue with your tween already then I recommend the movie. Also, the movie gets an A+ for the geek factor in it. Those that have seen it already should know what I mean. ;-)

Good Clean Fun? What??????????
I DIDN'T READ ENOUGH REVIEWS before going...what is "good clean family fun" to one party is vulgar to another, and I'm no prude. Let me also remind Mr. PG-13 on here that many PG-13s aren't nearly so vulgar and that's WHY we parents read reviews and trust people to be honest. I am so no other parent has to be embarrassed and cover their kids eyes...the girls in this movie were just trash. Efron makes some good moral points but discredits himself with very bad language. Deals with very mature issues that 15 yr olds and up (only if they are mature) should see, but the language was very vulgar and unnecessary. A shame, too, because I would have bought it on DVD. I will never understand why Hollywood limits its sales like that! I know kids hear all this stuff on the bus or at school but Hollywood shouldn't reinforce it and ruin what could have been a good movie. One family will small kids got up and left...I applaud them. At least their kids will still respect their principal in school. Crazy Ned makes it worth adults viewing, though! He was the star of the movie for me!!! Without him, I'd have left early. Now, Beam me up, Scotty. There's got to be a saner planet out there somewhere!

The sexual references are well beyond what is acceptable for 10-12 year olds, sex ed class, condom distribution and makeout/bedroom scenes are but a few...The language also goes beyond 'naughty' words.

Better than I ever thought it would be.
I really liked this movie, I honestly thought it was going to be bad as ever! Zac Efron CAN act..he definitely proves that in this film! As for age, that depends on the level of maturity of the viewer. I say 11 years old and up, only because I would have absolutely loved this movie if I were 11! It's got good messages, good clean fun, nothing inappropriate (unless of course you let a 6 or 7 year old view it), and good comedy all around. I laughed (and was surprised!) about 3 or 4 times. Both tweens and adults who like a good chick flick will enjoy this.

Its RATED PG-13 you idiots who took your 12-and-unders to see it!!!!!
there are lots of reminders in this review: PG-13 is JUST under R in the rating system. think about that when you complain that your 9 year old thought the movie was "too old" for them. DUH!! your kids know what sex is. they understand raunchy language. stop treating them like sheep who only learn what you tell them to learn... this movie is harmless. there is no gratuitous nakedness (not that it would be soo bad... everybody has either a penis OR a vagina [OR BOTH!! *GASP!]) no serious swearing (damn does NOT count!) also, who takes a 9-year-old to a PG-13 movie?!? REMINDER: the 13 in the rating means that you should be at least 13 before you see it!!!! can you really complain about adult concepts in a movie that warns you about them!?! really!!

This movie is not for those under 15 years old.
This is NOT on the same level as a HSM movie. Be prepared to explain condoms, sex and endure bad language. I don't understand why they have to "junk up" movies. It would have been just as good minus the language. At least one of the sexual content parts did end with Zach advising teens to wait until they're are in love or married.

Fantastic movie - but rated PG13 for a reason!
This movie was quite funny and also gives good messages to discuss with your kids. I can't believe that some parents are getting an attitude because they brought their 9 and 10 year olds and it wasn't appropriate. Well.. IT IS RATED PG 13 FOR A REASON!! It is fine for teenagers, Efrons character always brings in the correct morals and points out when teens are behaving poorly. As a parent I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Efron is a superb actor and he will go far.

Maturer funny Zac Efron

Bad role models for teens!
Too many sexual innuendos. Underage drinking :-< Language I prefer not to hear especially out of a youth's mouth.

I loved this movie. it made me laugh and cry. I wouldn't waych it with my parents though. not good for immature tweens. (doesn't spoil...) in one of the scenes, a guy touches the principles hand and says, "i think our hands just made a baby." i died laughing. it has some bad launguage. but it doesn't say the f word. it is really about family. three girls really like zachs character, but they don't really do anything to him. it is a great movie.

Another coming-of-age movie, with an Efron spin.
When I saw this movie, at first I was surprised that Zac Efron was in it because of the more mature content. There are a lot of sexual references like in the health class. Also, there is an out of control party. Besides that, the movie was a little odd, but good too.

If you're the right age, overall a great movie
17 Again was a great movie, with a great message. it was refreshing and different from other recent movies, with a heartfelt message to go along with it. A guy who resents marrying his wife and giving up college at a young age, is seventeen again and is reminded why he married her, and makes him appreciate his life and he then wants it back. it demonstrates hardships in relationships with the dad and kids, wife and husband, and inner conflict with finding where and who your supposed to be. there were sexual refrences that would be okay for mature 12 year olds, but no younger than that. other than that and mild language, the movie is overall appropriate. i would definitely recommend it.

Great movie for teens
Loved the movie! It was very funny! Some parts are inappropriate like there is this 1 part where they talk about "making love" during a science class. A lot of brand names. But other than that it is a fun movie about a guy who makes his life right again when he is turned back into a 17 year old.

Looks okay for under 10, really just for 13+
The trailers for this movie make it look little kidish, so when I saw the movie, I was surprised. 40% plus had to revolve around sex, which was a little bit of a shocker for me. also, the bullying had a lot of harsh swears but they were only used once and never again, which was a good thing. Over all, I loved the movie! It had a great story and taught a lesson, which I thought added a little bonus. Also, it was pretty funny and I thought the actor of Ned did a great job. Finally, I also agree with dreweth. Just because Zac Efron is in it and the trailiers look good doesn't mean it's appropriate for them. Grade: B+

Good movie for aging Zac Efron fans, some awkward parts.
Funny? Check. Big-name actors? Check. Should you take your "Zac Efron Tweens"? No. Teens should watch it, but please don't take your Elementary school Die-hard HSM fans just because it has Zac Efron in it.

I thought the whole movie was just fine. There might of been two curse words, but people are overreacting if there thinking a Zac Efron movie is too much for their kids. If parents are concerned, they need to rent it first and see what it is about and then decide if they want their kids to see it. I'm 16 years of age- and to be honest with you... this movie is nothing compared to what kids at school say everyday!

I also watched this one with my sister and I didn't feel comfortable that she was watching it since she's 10. There's a large amount of sexy stuff. Kissing, condoms, pregnancy, a couple in bed together, 'wanting' girls, seducing, proposals, you name it. AND, there's a good amount of bad language.

This movie was pretty good. Nothing amazing but good. It was funny though. It might not be something u want to take ur High School Musical, Zac Efron obsessed kids to. It might be to much of a drastic change to see Zac in this movie from HSM. There is some swearing but not anything to be too worried about. I enjoyed this movie and thought it was funny. The movie was ok but Zac did a great job as an actor.
