What Parents Need to Know
About Blades of Glory
Parents need to know that this Will Ferrell comedy has lots of verbal and sight jokes about sex, homosexuality, drinking, and drugs. There are goofy-but-sometimes-violent physical gags (like a decapitation that features obvious use of a mannequin and fake blood) and ads for sponsored products. Characters fight, get cut by skate blades, shoot harpoons (one hits a mascot in the head and scares screaming children), and do some painful-looking stunts on the ice (splits, falls, ice burns). Figure skating's foppish reputation is skewered repeatedly, with over-the-top spandex costumes, poofy hair, make-up, and histrionic ice dancing. It's especially evident when the two main characters team up to form a spandex-clad male-male pair who hold hands, perform lifts, and accidentally grab and kick each other's crotches. Language includes repeated uses of "sucks," "damn," "s--t," and "ass."

for pre teens
Great movie but Chazz drinks so much! He gets drunk all the time. But otherwise it was hillarious.

Even though dumb, the movie had a good moral to it at the end. The working together and Katie is not a whore thing. Good friendship.

Severly Disappointed
I knew the movie was going to be goofy prior to seeing it, but I was incredibly disappointed in the content. I watched this with my 3 teenage siblings and mom and every single one of us was disappointed. Though the language was not considered R-rated, it was too explicit, as was Will Ferrill's entire character. Find a better alternative.

Lots of sex, sex inuendos and sex related material. Language is ify. Drunk guys get plastered. Okay movie. Funny. NOt okay for anyone younger than 14. If you get uncomfortable with talk about sex, then this is not the movie for you.

hillariously inapropiate
this is a great movie, but not one to learn lessons from. This is quite inapropriate, lots of sex related stuff, swearing, drinking, using people, and cheating to win. However, it's hillariously funny, and a great movie for all those who don't take any of these messages to heart. If you can handle it, totally watch it!

one of the funniest movies
I thought that this movie was one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. It is funny the whole way through the movie. I would say that this movie was kind of related to the movie Taladega Nights. I would say that this movie is good for all ages depending on how harsh the parent is.

Nothing really to important for parents to keep an eye on. there was a part when a girl got decapitated and ya that was kinda scary. my little 8 year old brother went with us to watch it and there was no problem with him. i think this is good for ages 10 or 9+.
