What Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that this movie is absolutely not for kids. It's designed to convey hectic, bloody, and relentless action. Violence includes shooting, needle jabbing, punching, kicking, stabbing, and falling. A couple has sex in public, upsetting and titillating a crowd on the street and in vehicles (skin not explicit, but act is rendered with heavy breathing and clothes-tearing). Scenes include bikinied and topless women, pole-dancers in thongs, and naked women encased in glass balls, apparently as decorations). A doctor's advice seems shady (he suggests smoking marijuana to calm down). Hero uses the n-word and other disparaging language to incite aggression and display his tough-guyness. Lots of profanity and drug use.

What’s the Story?
Borrowing its slim storyline from the 1950 film noir D.O.A. (starring Edmond O'Brien), CRANK follows the life-and-death situation of hitman Chev ( Jason Statham), who is poisoned and has a limited time to find his killer and exact revenge. Chev swears he wants to go straight in order to please his mightily naïve girlfriend Eve (Amy Smart). Chev's pursuit of his killer, the utterly arrogant Ricky Verona (Jose Pablo Contillo), leads to run-ins with any number of brutish and shady sorts, including drug dealers, assassins, gang members, and thugs. Chev appears to be a softie at heart--he saves Eve from villains, impresses her with his devotion, but can't overcome the effects of the deadly toxin. In order that the movie can race along for its 87 minutes, Chev is able to slow the poison by keeping his adrenaline geared up -- this according to an absurd diagnosis rendered by his doctor (Dwight Yoakam).
Is It Any Good?
Elaborately aggressive and provocative, Crank is just what its title suggests: fast, ornery, and exhausting. Logic is not this movie's strong suit; it's like a ride, one crazy bit of business after another. Chev spends his last minutes on earth trying to jar himself into excitement, taunting various enemies into fights, having sex with his girlfriend in the street, chasing and shooting goons point blank, stealing epinephrine from the hospital, driving very fast and jumping from an airplane -- without a parachute.

Wow
I bought this movie because i figured it would be alright but wow i was wrong.. Right from the opening of the movie all the way to the end its a nonstop relentless stream of bloody violence and constant strong language. It reminded me of Grand Thet Auto.

Alright Movie.
This movie isn't great...but it's definitely not meant to be seen by ANYBODY under 17. There's plenty of violence, nudity, and language. I currently want to see their review for Crank 2. I saw it and it was LOADS better than this one. But they'll probably say "No Kids".

The most offensive movie I have never seen
Crank is a high action adrenaline thrill-ride. But parents BEWARE. This is possibly the most offensive film I never seen. I didn't even get to finish it. I saw up to 27 minutes, but I fast forwarded through 25. Some of the parts I hadn't seen I watched on USA Network. But still there is excessive language, sexual content, nudity and a whole lot of violence to go with it. And the thing that suprised me was when I was watching it on USA Network. They actually aired the sex scene. Now during that scene there is no nudity. But they show the movement and you hear the sounds and it is still graphic. Many topless woman are scene throughout. I really like Jason Statham, He is one of my favoriate actors and I will admit I might have liked this film if it did not have all of what it did. Or even half of what it did. So parents please caution do not let your children watch this if they are under 17. 16 would be ok. Only if they are mature.

Crank keeps your adreneline going.
Crank is one of Jason Statham's best work, probably because it's an R rated ride that is not really for kids. Unlike Transporter 3 and others "Crsnk" has style and cool, even though i say this this isn't for everyone the movie is extremely violent and crude adult sex but if you think you're mature enough see it.

Best ADD movie I have seen ever.
As one could guess from my title,I think the best part of this movie is its randomness. One scene, Chev is surfing a motorcycle. The next, he is saving his girlfriend from other hitmen, while she has no idea she is being shot at. This movie could have been extremely bad, but ends up being one of the best popcorn/blow up everything in your way I have ever seen. It also cleverly integrates the soundtrack, translating Chev's thoughts into background noise. Finally, this movie has the best type of intro a movie could have. Chev wakes up, watches a DVD with swear words written on it left for him, and proceeds to completely destroy his thousand dollar TV. And the mayhem continues on from there.

I really like fast and violent films, but I would not let younger people watch this. It is horribly inappropriate in every catergory. This is what I like in a movie (stuff I cannot do for real) but like I said its better for the older kids (17 and up) to enjoy

Terrible
In one word, stupid. This film is unintelligent and wholly unfulfilling. This movie desperately fumbles at humor for shock value, the way a freshman reaches for a pantyskirt. Boring action, bland acting, and ridiculous, non-tittilating nudity make this one a ludicrous waste of time.

Pulp Fiction on Overdrive
Crank is violent, fast paced, and completely ridiculous. Is it a great movie, no, but I don't think they were trying to shoot the next "Gone with the Wind", I think they were filming a fun action movie. While violence plays a big part in this movie, as do drugs and language, it's all in good fun. The violence is over the top and the language is used in numerous colorful phrases that you can't help but giggle at. This is definitely and R rated film, but would I stop anyone over the age of 15 from seeing it, no. The violence is so off the wall and humorous that it's not going to warp anyone's mind. There are some quick shots of nude women as well as clothed sex scene. But when you lay it on the line, Crank is just plain old summer action movie fun.

This was one of the best action movies in the world. My god it is so funny and violent its not an issue. Its amazing, I wouldnt stop any age watching it. Take my advice people. Excellent movie!!

iffy
I liked the movie but i probably shouldn't hav watched it. There was nothing at all in the movie i didnt already know about, but there is no way of telling if your kid does or not, so i wouldnt recomend it for kids under 13.
