What Parents Need to Know
About Troy
Parents need to know the movie has almost-constant battle violence with graphic and brutal injuries. The weapons include knives, swords, spears, arrows, and fire. Many characters are killed. The movie also has sexual references and situations and brief nudity. A virgin priestess is made available to the soldiers for rape as part of the spoils of war, but this is unacceptable to one of the warriors.

Lives in MassachusettsI rate this title on for age 10 and give itTroy Review For Mr. Stoltman's class :)
There is a movie called Troy. In the movie, it tells about a famous mythological hero. Achilles was helping Greece conquer Troy. The movie took place in Greece, but a very long time ago. It was the time when people still fought with swords and there were world leaders always trying to conquer more land. The Genre of this film is action with a bit of adventure. There was once a hero name Achilles. His father was a god from Olympus while his mom was a human oracle. One day, Greece asked Achilles to help them in the war with Troy. He went to his mother for advice. Talking to him, she said, if Achilles stays where he is now, he will live a happy life and kids. But, if he goes to war, he will take down Troy, but he will go down with it. Then next morning he left of to Troy. Achilles and his army arrive and see a Trojan temple to the Trojan god, Poseidon. They start to attack the worshipers of it and kill most of them. After a while, the king’s son comes to defend it and sees that Achilles took over it. Once Achilles sees the son come, he chops the head of the statue of Poseidon. Next morning they take their army, and decide to attack Troy. Troy’s walls are very big so it was hard for Greece to penetrate them. After a long day of fighting the Grecians come up with a very good plan. At night they craft a big wooden horse that is a sign of peace for Troy. A lot of soldiers get in it and other roll them to the Trojan gate. The Trojans accept it as a sign of peace and take it into their city. At night Achilles and his army get out and open the gates for the big army to get in. They burn the city down and run everyone out of it. Achilles goes to the highest point of the city and sees that his beloved was going to be persecuted. He runs to save her but doesn’t see a man with a bow and arrow behind him. Once Achilles gets to her, the archer shoots him in his heel and then he shoots him many times. After a while, the great hero Achilles died. After the win, all the people remember the name Achilles, for he was a great hero of Greece. The costume design was very creative and they used a lot of detail on it. It looked slim so it was like older armor with a modernistic touch. Their weapons looked like real ones and so did their shields. They could swing them so quickly and easy because they were light.
