My son loves it but the bit when Vanessa sticks a fork in her hand to see if she's dreaming worries me.

Too boring and romantic for little kids
This is an ok movie, my 4-year-old likes it, but she doesn't love it. There's too much romantic stuff going on, and several crude images, particularly in the montage at the end when everyone is being arrested for their theft of 'bee culture.' She also finds the long courtroom scenes boring.

f*****g s**t...
i f*****g hated this movie because it was so f*****g gay that these people who directed the goddam f*****g movie should be hanged in their garages and be raped until they shrivel up into dry douches. my child was f*****g scared to death by all of its violence and this poses a great deal of a bad role model as it shows people smoking so much to get so much f*****g lung cancer. I was so f*****g digusted about the movie and jerry sienfield's acting that i puked 70 f*****g times that the manager f*****g kicked my f*****g ass out the f*****g door.

Good family movie with a good message that kids can relate to.
one scene that concerned me was when one Bee accuses the other of "making out"with his girlfriend.something I really don't want to expalin to my 3 and 4 year old. But other than that it was a really good movie and both girls sat through the whole thing and enjoyed it. The ,message that your actions have consequences was good too when all the bees quit working and all the flowers started to die was a good message of how everything works together for a purpose and my older daughter noticed this right away and asked questions about it. Good family movie. Go and ahead and watch it.

Not so good...
BEE MOVIE has an awesome premise, but it is very poorly executed. Renee Zellweger is good, but the film never really suceeds where it intends to. There is no sex in the movie at all, but surprisingly uncalled for innuendo. Drag queens are mentioned and shown, and bees talk of how a spiders' "eight legs kept me up all night". A lawyer questions the main bee character as to whether he is the human female's "bed bug". The same lady is seen as to live with an egotistical jerk. There are several intense scenes as well.

Why this is geared to little ones is beyond me!?
My daughter is 5 and I an elementary teacher. I am a very conscious of everything she's is exposed to. If something is not rated G, then I prescreen the DVD and use website research to decide if she views it. The innuendo and foremost the several times stated "making out" were completely unnecessary and inappropriate for a 5 year old. This movie was funny for me, but the lawsuit angle and the idea that the humans were stealing the honey was over my child's head. What does a 5 yr. old know of lawsuits? She won't see this movie!!

Fun but why are the parents always stupid
This was a pretty entertaining film that is appropriate for all ages for the most part. I have just one major beef: I am tired of kid’s films that portray parents as people who are too stupid to understand and support the aspirations of their kids. Yet again, in this movie, we see a youthful hero who aspires to something beyond the dull confines of a regular life fighting his stick-in-the-mud parents who want him to go out and get a real job. We know how it plays out. The kid ends up being right, the parent’s stupidity and terminal dullness gets exposed, and in the end the parents bow to their kid's miraculously acquired wisdom that became somehow superior to their years of real-life experience. I think it's all too common for kids today to take the notion that their parents don't have a clue about what's right for them as a default mode of thought. Perhaps this is because this idea pervades our media culture, including many apparently harmless movies like Bee Movie (and so many Disney animations) that appear to be sweet entertainment for kids, yet hide this essentially poisonous way of thought.

How the bee helps out
Jerry first off,he could of made this alot more funnier. I thought that they way he put this may too complacating for some young kids to understand, although then that would give the parent time for explaining just what the movie meant.Cause there is a messege in the movie if you are of age and can catch it! But I think he could of made it a wee little bit funnier,he is a comedian for gosh sakes. Not sure about the concept of the bee falling in love with the human either,???? Oh well it is a movie.(FUNNY)Oh well I dont know what to say,it is good and funny I wouldn't go see it again though.

Funny even for little ones
We were skeptical of a Seinfeld movie being way over the kids' heads; we were so wrong. Both our kids (aged 6 (boy) and 3 (girl)) loved it, although our 6-year old 'got' more of the comedy. We thought the story line was cute, the language was fine (like they don't hear someone say 'stupid' every once in a while) and the animation was really good. By the very end, the whiney Seinfeld-isms were getting to us but then again, we're used to 30-minutes of him at a clip! We will probably buy this when it comes to DVD.

Dissappointed Bee
Like most of the county, I loved Sienfeld so I hoped that some of that would show up in this movie but it didn't. I take that back. Not very much showed up. I think I could write a better plot. Bee's make honey. People steal honey. People bad. Bees sue people. Bees win. Bees quit making honey. Plants die. The end. Like I say, I was dissapointed but for the die-hard Sienfeld fan, you'de might as well see it. It can't hurt.

Completely inaccurate depiction of bees has frightening social implications
I attended this film with my granddaughter and was incredibly disappointed at its vision--and horrified that Seinfeld's ideas would affect my innocent, intelligent, egalitarian-minded granddaughter's thinking. Since when are honey worker bees male--and militant? Since when has the nuclear family existed in bee "culture"? A coming-of-age story about female bees would have made sense. Seinfeld has blatantly disregarded facts of nature, and has missed an opportunity to appreciate female insect "culture" and knowledge. Male coming-of-age stories are still the ones our culture thinks it wants to hear, even, apparently, if these are perversions of natural truth. Children's thinking, already influenced by a culture and world that definitely does not appreciate human women (and things "female") anywhere near as much as it privileges human men (and things "male"), will be further indoctrinated into patriarchal, nuclear family, militarist thinking by this new sort of Disneyfication of nature. Seinfeld's indifference in his rendering of bee life has missed the mark in so many ways.

They Shot Pooh With a Tranquilizer Dart!
My 7 year old asked me to write this review. He was so upset that they shot Winnie the Pooh with a tranquilizer dart - right in front of Piglet! He is very concerned that young children may go to this movie and be very upset by the scene. Really, what were they thinking? The movie itself was okay - but they forgot their audience.

Kind of boring...
We just took our daughter to see this as her first movie--we debated between this (because it was rated PG) and Mr Magorium's--but decided on this because of the review here. My daughter enjoyed it enough (probably because it was her first time in a theater), but my husband and I thought it was extremely slow paced and unfunny. I was also disturbed by the trailers at the beginning--WAY too intense for most children to see. :(

Had to leave!
Took my 6 year old daughter to see the movie and we left after 15 minutes. She has not seen many movies so the whole experience is someewhat new to her but the early scenes where Barry gets caught in the rain, swatted at, sucked through a car engine, etc. , were too much for her. I suspect that the (overly) loud soundtrack in the theater did not help. I also agree with a previous review that highlighted the difficulties with trailers. Often edited to "excite" they end up being much more intense and, personally, I was not prepared for "PG" level trailers. I understand that my daughter may be a little "movie sensitive" but wanted to air a note of concren if others read the inital review of "sweet and easy" suggested by the CS reviewer.

I was disappointed
I took my 6.5 year old son to this movie. Both of us walked out at the end of the movie saying, "That wasn't great." Both of us were disappointed after all the advertising. The person that wrote something like, 'don't expect much' was right. I wish they had gone into more depth about bees and how our planet would be without them. How things that humans are doing can harm or help them. More over I could have done without the sexual innuendos and the mosquito scenes with drug over tones. Kind of a Cheech and Chong insect in search of blood, what kid needs that? Harsh bottom line in my opinion? The McDonald's toys are probably more entertaining than the film itself. There are just better films to take your kids to see.

Don't try this at home...
Safety warning: The boyfriend tries to kill the bee with an aerosol. When unsuccessful, he lights the stream of aerosol on fire to make a flaming torch. Very dangerous example for kids--explosion risk. I'm sure some kids will try this. I talked with the kids afterward. Otherwise, the movie's fine. Weak story, but 10-11 yr olds liked it. Certainly no Bug's Life.

"Like bugs, rent it. Don't like them, rent it."
I'm saying this film was educational because I had completely forgotten that bees were needed for such an important purpose.I also thought is was pretty funny. don't expect less from Seinfeld.

A review
This movie is cute, but the violance can be scary for younger, and sensitive kids. Vanessa is shown hitting a rock, blowing up, and dieing. Barry is almost squashed numurous times, some bugs on a windshield are shown dieing, or already dead. Barry day dreams about dating Vanessa alot

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?
This movie was awful. Period. Awful. Sure, it's all okay for kids, but it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. F movie. I HATED IT. Boring, terrible script, not funny AT ALL, bad acting, BORING, weird at times, crappy story, I could go on and on about how much of a piece of crap this is. Sure, kids will eat it up, but they're KIDS. If you have any respect for films, don't watch this. It's so bad its depressing.

Bee Movie should be called A+++ Movie!
Sexual Content: Will fly right over the head of most children. Violence: People try to kill the bees :( but what child doesn't see that on the playground anyway? Language: Not an issue. Social Behaviour: Terrific message! The bees pull together and get through the tough times. Commercialism: Kids won't remember the products and older kids will already have it. :) Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco: Okay, there is none of this. Commonsensemedia lied unfortunatley. It is as clean as can be. Great movie on for 2+! Everyone should see this. You will not regret it. Buy it now!

People. Its a movies about talking bees...
Why do people always have to point out little inaccurasies with EVERYTHING? They're talking bees! It's a comedy! Stop reading into things too much and relax your over-worked, under-used brains. Anyway, I thought it was actually pretty funny. Renee really did this voice acting well and the quick script really helped the delivery of most of the jokes. I don't know why people are saying it was too slow. If you want an adventure film that's safe to take your itsy bitsy over-protected children to... You're pretty much screwed. xD

My mom is a beekeeper and all of the facts about bees in this movie were totally wrong! All of the workers in the hive are females and they perform all of the jobs in the hive. The males don't do any work. There was so much more that was wrong. And beekeepers are nice and like their bees. My mom takes great care of hers and loves them. She isn't mean or greedy.
