this movie is a great absolute classic that everyone should watch, but it is quite bad for a PG-13 movie, we see a girl take off her bra (we see her bare back, but no boobs), mom has to have sex with a principal in order to get in a school (nothing is shown, but we hear moaning), we also see a man look at a pornographic magazine which actually suprising does show boobs, we see tom hanks about to have sex (nothing is shown), a girl trys to rape forrest gump, but he pushes her out the window, we see blood splatter out of her skull as she hits the ground, we see a man get his legs blown off blood spurts from the wound, we also see a man sniff cocaine, inject heroine, and smoke weed, it is very explicit for a PG-13 film, but it's so good everyone should see it

Forrest Gump blew my mind away
When I saw this movie, it was one of my top five favorite movies of all time. But the war scene was a little bloody, and the movie had a little bit of sexual situations and strong cuss words, but this is an awesome movie and you should see this! You'll be glad you did!

A great movie, but not for young teens
What the Common Sense review does not mention is an early scene in which Forrest's mother has sex with the school principal to get Forrest into public school, and Forrest hears plenty of noise from the principal while that's happening. Also, the "foreplay" scene is not appropriate for young teens or children.

A Movie Full of Great Lessons and Great Acting
I was sad to see the negative adult reviews on this movie. No, it is definitely not for young children. I watched the edited television version with my 10-year-old and talked to her about what we were seeing as we went; but I won't let her watch the unedited DVD. That being said, I think 14-year-olds and up can learn a lot from seeing this with their parents. It addresses issues from drugs to sex to war to people who are mentally challenged in a compassionate, (movie)-realistic way. What a great starting point for a talk with my son!

Yuck
Yes, Tom Hanks performed brilliantly but overall this movie was disgusting. The amount of sex, language, drugs etc. was unreal and depressing. I never get the impression of love, care or concern for Forrest in this movie. One movie I wish I could forget and erase ever having watched.

BEST MOVIE EVER!
OMG i thought this was one of THE BEST movies ive seen... I cried when Bubble and Jenny dies (and momma) but it showed how great a mentally disabled person can be and how great their lives can be if they are like Forrest. The only semi-bad parts were when Jenny has Forrest feel her boobs and he says he feels dizzy, and when she shoots up grugs , but other than that...GREAT MOVIE and you have to see it!

I was really impressed by how good this movie was. Everything fit together so nicely. I watched it three times in my life, and I still cry at the ending every time I watch it. There is one violent war scene. Lots of language. And there is some sex but I'd say anyone over 11 can and SHOULD see it. I can't believe I waited so long of seeing it on the shelves before fianlly picking it up! A must see.

It didn't win 6 academies for nothing! Forrest Gump is a touching film of a mentally retarted child telling his stories to whoever will listen. Susprisingly good, this movie contains sex scenes, themes children won't understand, and copes with death. However, kids will love it, and there is also a very important lesson to be learnt. A must see!

My name says that I love the movie "Jumanji," (and I do, don't get me wrong) it's just that this movie honestly moved me in every way possible and its cross of realism and fiction was unbelievable, plus the amazing cropping and editing to make it look like Forrest Gump REALLY made a big impact on America. You WILL believe life is a box of chocolates after seeing this movie.

I loved this movie! Forrest Gump is a great character. And it teaches you not to do drugs. The only iffy parts I saw were one part where it's kinda bloody and another where Jenny and Forrest make out on a bed. I saw it as a class movie so it's not too bad. ITS MY FAVORITE NOW! Amazing story...
This movie is loaded with wisdom and messages, but may not be appropriate for younger kids. Lots of drugs (pot, LSD, cocaine, alcohol) and sex (porn mag, strip club, multiple sex scenes), as well as violence in bullying Forrest and war scenes. It has many sad moments (deaths of characters), but Forrest's optimism always comes through.

Uncomfortable to watch with parents
It was a great movie, but during the progression of the film, there were some sensual parts that were very uncomfortable to watch with my parents in the same room. I would ask parents to see if these scenes are appropriate for their kids. I would rather have watched this with a bunch of my friends when I'm older than with my parents.
