I absolutley loved this movie. Personally, I saw nothing wrong with it. It was a pretty creepy, and some images were kind of disturbing ( you do see people dead, that is kind of bloody ) slight language, but over all very appropriate for ages 12.If you are strict about what your kid watches, you may want to watch the movie before they do to decide.

    • My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Negative role models

This is potentially a scary film to certain people - So do watch first before deciding to show children

I very much enjoyed this film, the ending was not so much to my liking but was clever all the same. I didn't find it very scary, however, there are people I know 15+ who would find this movie scary. If you are going to watch this with a child under 15 - I recommend you watch the film first and decide whether or not your child should watch it, using your own discretion.

    Who is Charlie?

This is a very good scary movie for pre teens 13 and up. But the movie gets very cofusing at times because of all the twists and turns! Even at the end of the movie many people will be confused on if the dad was Charlie all along, or if he was possesed by the neighbor Charlie, or that the dad had a mental illness?

    Great movie.

should not be put as a horror movie it was like drama, not scary at all. It was a realistic thing that could happen, a diaese that many people have and don't even know it. but for being rated R?? I dont think it should have been rated R, no languge, a little kissing, a little blood, and deaths. but i can understand for somone who is scared easily or a young child it would come off as scary. but overall it was a great movie, and i think even a kid would enjoy it.

    Hide and Seek

This is a must-see for anyone from the ages 12-100! The violence is not as bad as anyone would think. But still kinda bloody. One f-word goes through a seen. Many s,d,g-d,and other words are used. It is good.

    A Great movie

I saw this movie last night i'm 10 and it didn't scare me. The only thing is for some people blood freaks them out. But my mom freaked at some scenes like a dead cop that wasn't dead. Overall a great movie for teens

I saw it last night. Dakota fanning is sweet and it is so predictable! If every1 thinks this is scary see the grudge! That is scary!

It was creepy with an unexpected ending.

I loved it. Little children would not understand or be too scared, but for older teens and up, it's a great edge-of-your-seat movie.

    Great movie!

This is a great psychological-thriller movie! Sure, I was scared and stuff, but that's part of the experience, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I wouldn't let timid, sensitive, or easily-impressionable kids/tweens watch this, but if they were mature and/or older, it's a great movie for them. Def. worth the watch.

    Go Dakota!

Well, I am one of Dakota Fanning's biggest fans so of course I have to watch every movie she's in. I really enjoyed this one. She did an amazing job in this one. I actually didn't find this movie to be that scary or violent. I think it could have received a PG-13 rating instead of R, but it's definitely too scary for kids under 12 or 13. There is some suspense, and mild violence, although none of it was graphic. I didn't hear any cussing except for one word at the end. Overall I loved the movie because it's very suspenseful without being too scary and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.

    AMAZING movie.

Sex: none. references to *Spoiler wife having an affair* and Emily says Charlie said he could please Mommy. Violence: multiple references to Emily's mother's suicide, 1 death by shovel, a few shootings, a dead cat in a bathtub and a woman falls out a window. (very minimal blood shown with the woman) language: one f-word.

    A must see!!!

This is one of the best psychological thrillers i have ever seen. Dakota played a character that we normally don't see her playing, she played in Uptown Girls and others but this one portrayed her as mysterious with her playmate Charlie. Who is he, is he real? These questions were in my head the whole movie, it was suspenseful and me and my friend were gripped to eachother the whole movie. The violence wasn't too graphic, there was very little blood and the language wasn't bad for an R or even a pg-13. There was no sex and it was a very good, jumpy, movie... that is a must see for anyone 13 and up.

    Lame...lame...and lame...

This was probably one of the most torturous, boring movies I have ever been unlucky enough to sit through. Robert DeNiro: Thank you for your wonderful acting; it gives this movie at least a little light of hope. But as for the rest of it, the movie was boring, dull, lame, and lacked that special "edge-of-your-seat" finesse most psychological thrillers require in order to be classified as that...a psychological THRILLER! Hands down one of the worst movies I've ever seen...

A great film for teens... a VERY soft `R` and a great weekend scare...

This movie, like it says above, is a great weekend scare. It's a lot of fun. Creepy, scary, a cool climax, great acting, FUN. And it's absolutely okay for any teenager. (unless you know your kid is sensitive to this stuff) There are some violent images and blood, and of course it is VERY scary, but any teenager can handle it. So go and rent it this Friday, you'll have a LOT of fun.
