Proof that the truest horror comes from the imagination
This was a very good miniseris overall. I saw it when I was 9 years old, and I remember being terrified. It is certainly not as good as the book, but when it comes to Stephen King adaptations, this one is one of the better (if not more watered down) ones.
The movie is extremely tame compared to the novel. All the disturbing adult elements of the novel were taken out of the movie. It's still a decent horror film. TIm Curry's preformance is brilliant. There is some mild violence and profanity. It was rated TV-14 on ABC. It is probably scary for younger kids though.
I absolutely loved this movie. But it can be EXTREMELY scary. Exspecially if you are scared of clowns to start with. (Like me) I would recomend this to any horror fan 12 and up or 10 if your brave. I thought the ending was really stupid, but other than that the movie is very scary.
Parents need to know this movie contains content that, if it was rated, it would get an "R" rating, but not severely. There are obscene racist remarks that are very offending (2 of them) and occasional somewhat colorful language. Extreme bullying and grotesque images. Very terrifying, even without the gore. Some drinking.
An intense so-so thriller, but sucks as a horror. Not worth watching in one sitting. The thing is 3 hours long. The violence as well as profanity and sexy stuff is at a high TV-14 or PG-13 setting. Not too harsh.
In 1990 when this "Horror" movie was released, it must of been scary with Pennywise's "Hungry (Scary) Look"
and "blood erupted balloons" but parents, horror movies were SO old-fashioned back then! Just watch it once more and I guarantee you that your children aged 10+ will be fine under parental guidence. Yes, there are jumpy parts but - come on! I thought parents were more than that. This film is not scary -- I don't care how old Commonsense says I am -- I'm not 11, i'm 10 and when I watched this on YouTube, belive it or not...I LAUGHED!
this is a freakin scary movie "it" is why i hate clowns and this is coming from an adult
whos seen the shining, the mist, dog soldiers, candyman, and way more horrorific titles. I think that this is a great suspense/thriller movie for preteens. however there is one bloody scene were a man is found dead in a bathtub because he commited suicide due to his fear of the clown, no nudity is shown, and there is no sexuality in this movie however there is some bad language but no uses of F--ck. Scary movie
IT is not rated its a good movie teaches about how important friendship and working together can be when in a bad situation the blood in t is where theres ballons poping with blood cup of blood and blood in sink and a kid getting his hand bit off BUT DOES NOT SHOW IT most of the time the blood is not violent.its not scary if u watch it on a computer when the lights are on but tv can be scary theres making out there are MILD sexual sceans but never get in to it the language is the words basterd, and the N word used by a WHITE person twice there is drinking and smoking refrences if i was the rater for this movie i would give it a (PG-13) rating
This movie has a lot of gore in it, but the gore is not coming from anyone in most cases, it comes out of balloons and drains. There is a lot of noticible drinking and a man who commits a bloody suicide. There is a couple uses of a racist word but not much cussing. There is an abusive father and husband and lots of moments of sudden random movements similiar to those in paranormal activity or the sixth sense. This movie is a good horror movie if you want to watch something creepy thats not rated R.
Do not see this.Tim Curry is in it.Ted Alan would sound like chef Georgie you have been chopped.NOW DIE.This was so so so so so so so so bad AND WEIRD.
just to let you know this isint your average horror film though it does have some classic pranks like eyeballs and crawling things inside of fortune cookies it is based off the stephen king novel IT and it is mostly targeted for adults and the movie leaves out alot of the graphic details tht the book includes i have read the book and i would have givin this movie 5 stars if it would have been more like the book plus a warning at the end of the movie (spoiler alert) when they kill IT they rip out the guts (not that graphic) of it but its not in clown form it transforms from a giant spider into a flying creature and they rip out this huge thing that looks like a giant heart or something of that sort.
Well Pennywise, you've got the talent. I have never read the book, but I want to. This movie is AWESOME!!!! Even though this is 193 minutes, it is a big and great movie. I Love It. P.S: Tim Curry is great at being Pennywise the Dancing Clown!
